PGM Iron Man #1 3 3

I am at a total loss on how to handle this one. Picked this up last week in a group buy. Obviously a mouse or something got to it at some point, but I'm not sure if slabbing is the way to go with it.

Other than the obvious, there are some light non color breaking creases and a bit of a curve that should probably benefit from a press, but is all that business even worth it with that edge damage?! Really a shame as otherwise it would present pretty dang well IMO.

Thoughts on where damage like this would land it?

Oof, this one is definitely interesting to grade. Unfortunately I think the major rat chew keeps this in the 2.0 range at best. No need to press this one as there won't be any improvement in the technical grade.

This is making me paranoid about the box of comics my dad left me that are stuck in a storage unit. All 60s ans 70s comics he collected as a kid. Lot of early spider-man, daredevil, x-men, and human torch Issues.

That's honestly super unfortunate, a peice of history slightly ruined by cruel pests of nature.

i think you would get a 2.0 grade for this maybe a chance at better and it would look 10 times better in the slab .. if you had a batch of 10 comics or more to submit i would definitely add this to the submission but would not submit it individually

Solid advice. I do have a handful of other Pre-1975 right now due to this group buy (some ASM, Sub-Mariner 1, Cap 100, etc) so I may just toss it in and see how it goes.

Thanks gang. Fortunately this and #2 were really the only thing ate up in the group purchase, but OF COURSE it had to be the #1. 😄
