Sqeggs Posted October 8, 2021 Author Share Posted October 8, 2021 A few general observations: Kudos to the organizers for doing a great job of running the vaccine checks and having people posted all over the place to give guidance. In some past years, chaos and anarchy have reigned and the con has seemed woefully understaffed. But not this year. Attendance seemed quite low compared to past years. Much lower than on the Thursday in 2019--although Zolnerowich claims I was a no-show in 2019, in which case attendance was lower than in 2018. Not sure whether it was the need to show proof of vaccination, lingering fear of Covid, or maybe they were intentionally limiting ticket sales? Whatever the reason, definitely not sardines in the can level crowding this year. GA sellers were scarcer than usual. In fact, the whole comics area seemed much smaller. Midtown didn't do their usual big setup of trades--unless it was tucked away somewhere and we missed it. Several GA sellers and OA dealers who are usually there were missing. Well, I see that I somehow took only one photo of Harley's setup. The photo doesn't do him justice because it just shows some of his raw books. He had some nice GA wall books and a larger than usual selection of GA raws and graded in his boxes.
