Popular Post MAY1979
Something about the Marvel Hanna-Barbera's has fascinated me since i was a small child. They mostly look like late 1970's Marvel books but they were all non-Marvel Characters. They were not even licensed by Marvel just distributed. Nor were they written and drawn by Marvel staff. Love the film strips on the left side of books with the H-B Characters. The Marvel H-B's to me feel like Meatloaf & Mashed Potatoes or Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup - meaning warm and comforting.I highly recommend Twomorrow's "Back Issue" #59 for any interested in the Marvel H-B's, tomorrows.com From Scooby Doo #1 - Pop culture world's collide Thanks to comic_memories who's journal post inspired this thread topic Edited November 9, 2021 by MAR1979 Get Marwood & I, namisgr, Morganmi and 6 others 8

MAY1979
Petty much all Marvel Hanna's are difficult in high grade since they were newsstand only, these two were the only 9.8's of these issue #'s for around 15 years. OtherEric
@batmiesta posted the other two treasuries, so I'll just hop in with the third. The three treasuries are the only Marvel HB books I own: aardvark88, comic_memories, MAY1979 and 1 other
MAY1979
As with all Treasury's the Hanna's are very, and likley even more, difficult to find in High grade. In 3 decades, I never came across any that made my personal cut Edited November 8, 2021 by MAR1979 comic_memories

For BF (Blue Falcon) fans Dynomutt #2 is pretty much the cover on which he is featured most predominantly. Penciled by Paul Norris co-creator of Aquaman. comic_memories
Great post. I cant believe i am just now seeing this!! I get a kick out of these books too, fun to chase down and collect. Who can forget all these Saturday Morning cartoons that dominated the 70's? MAY1979

jdandns
The above, right on time for the 50th Anniversary of Flintstones Fruity & Cocoa Pebbles Cereal, which debuted in October, 1971, a half century ago, and three years after the still popular Flintstones children's vitamins. I wonder how many kids who eat that cereal or regularly take those vitamins today even know who The Flintstones are, haha. I was a little too young to buy these comics when new, but have a lot of nostalgia for the cartoons of that era, so I picked up a nice set of #1's (less TV Stars, which wasn't on my list made by going through an entire Overstreet PG, so I'll sure be paying more for that one eventually, than I did for the others) and a set of the treasuries throughout the early 90's. Wonderful thread, thank you, contributors. MR SigS, MAY1979 and comic_memories

MAY1979
One of the most difficult Marvel H-B's to find in high grade and I'm not sure why? Edited November 12, 2023 by MAR1979 comic_memories and batmiesta
comic_memories
Thats a nice copy! Personally, I think most of them are tough. Unconventional, Newstand only and not the kind of books Marvel fans would buy at the time (I know I didn't) I think most copies were well read and enjoyed by a younger crowd. With some exceptions such as first issues. Someone always hordes those. An Interesting thing about ALL the Dynomutt issues that Scooby Doo fans may not be aware of is that one story in each book is continued into the Scooby Doo Marvel title. The comments on (Dynomutt 5) CGC case should read. .... Scooby Doo Back-up Story, Continued in Scooby Doo 6.
