The copy of Maximo that I have is from 1940, I think. The author could use Superman in the title because the term was used by Shaw back in 1903. There are at least three stories that feature this character. Ed Lahman's article in Alter Ego 4 claimed he predated the DC version but he probably didn't. juniperpt
Here are a few Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon BLBs that have been passed down to me over the years. The Flash Gordon BLBs were well read. Has anyone submited a BLB to the chat room "Buddy can you spare a grade..."? Would this be an appropriate chat room to get feedback on grading BLBs? Or is there someother BLB focus chat room for grading? Also does CGC have a holder for BLBs? Thanks! Seeing as they don't even have any holders for the pulps or for some of the earlier oversized magazine formatted comic books like the New Fun's, Master's, Jumbo's, etc., I am pretty much 100% sure they don't have any type of holder for these BLB books. juniperpt

No, CGC doesn’t grade them and due to their current low demand, are very unlikely to. Personaly, I have always enjoyed them and picked up a lot as I ran into them over the years. The spines look so cool displayed on shelves. I just store them in paperback or digest bags. They work quite well. juniperpt

Laughing Dragon of Oz is one of them, because a) Oz collectors want it, and b) a lawsuit meant there was only one printing, so it's relatively scarce. It's nowhere near as rare as people used to think, though. juniperpt and Sarg
Robot Man
Yes to Oz. The first one, MR. Tracy and second one Mickey Mouse from 1933 as well. Oddly, the Big Little Paint book is also very hard to find and coveted. All the small sets are tough. And the premium books are tough and bring some money. There were a lot less printed and in smaller formats. The Fast Action BLBs are also very good and popular. Not to mention most of the Big Big Books. juniperpt and OtherEric

I've only ever seen the Popeye one I have, not sure if it's just an oversized version of a specific BLB or what. Sarg
