i caught this monster a few years back , i thought i had hooked into a big log because it offered no resistance until the end ,,, there was a wildlife guy near me who was very interested in this monster and he estimated that it was 75 years old !!

his head was twice as big as my fist, unfortunately the photo cropped off most of his head, trust me he was mad !! he probably could have bit clean through a broom handle lol 

i let it go of course , i have never had turtle before , i would like to try a bowl of turtle soup someday
