Is it OK to say you can never make a movie that will appeal to all people, and that to an extent tastes in things like movies do seem to break down along certain demographics? So it is OK for movies to target specific audiences? Therefore, trying to bring certain genres to new audiences can be tried but may fail.

 

I come back to an earlier argument that the MCU had achieved maximum market penetration across all demographics by Endgame.  Meaning the women who would be interested in seeing superhero fair already were.  That the movies being male dominated was not an issue for them. They liked the films for what they were already. Therefor, changing the formula to try and increase market appeal to more women, was doomed to fail.  The women not watching by then did not care and would  never care. The untapped market was an illusion. This is actually born out by the Marvels where men were 61% of the audience. So despite all the changes, the core demographic was not altered.

Wrong. I've taken 4 or 5 EEOC classes specifically on Sexual Harassment in the workplace and the numbers are astounding. Between FY 2018 and FY 2021, the EEOC received a total of 98,411 charges alleging harassment under any basis and 27,291 charges alleging sexual harassment. It is believed that the number of unreported cases is so much LARGER, due to the stigma, humiliation and burden of filing.

There are some additional issues that have not become public yet and I am not sure if they will.  But the main one was that Iger believed that Chapek would keep his personal views more in check so as to not rock the apple cart.  He... didn't.  This caused A LOT of friction amongst those executives.  Disney has done a very good job keeping this story contained.

"Boys Town" is the LGBTQ's nickname for the area on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood and it's one "in your face", unpretentious example. It's the largest LGBBTQ community in the US and walking down the street is an experience, especially at night.

West Hollywood in general though, is highly sexualized and is quite literally a world to itself. It's the epicentre of debauchery and in my opinion only rivalled by Vegas or Miami which tie for 2nd IMO.

Just walk the streets of West Hollywood one night on a weekend and everyone will see what I mean. 

The reason? The most "attractive" people in the world move there to make it in entertainment, so is it any wonder that their looks become the vehicles to success? It's literally supermodel central, every day, all day.

OK, carry on. 

 

Pfft. LA sucks. 

From experience, I can assure you, there are places in the world that would curl your hair compared to LA.

It's one of the wilder big company transition stories to go public. 

Although Iger's old Corporate Communications hatchet lead that would publish hit pieces on talent didn't last it out. I think she was involved in the Scarlett Johansson Black Widow pieces. But I may be wrong.

I have invested substantially in a mining operation in Australia (Green renewable energy source) and ESG / ERD is a key pillar in the approvals from EPA.

Why?

Because the land isn't resembling a nuclear wasteland when mining is done, and is usually better tbh.

It ensure Indigenous peoples are involved and compensated appropriately.

It ensures that water tables are free, and remain free from pollution.

Roads and infrastructure are constructed with one eye on environmental impacts.

 

In fact the whole mining area is going to be self-powered by solar and VRFB battery storage.

 

Anyone who says ESG is a 'con' or whatever is either a cockwomble or doesn't have a clue what it actually is.

It's funny that the people who try to center on what 'women really want' don't realize that women as a demographic are just as diverse and different amongst themselves, that there's no WAY to narrow it down to an exact specific.
