The difference is, with a banning, his post will remain to help identify this spammer who has been haunting this forum for several months, and trying to scam people in PM's. A while ago, I changed the settings so someone had to make at least 1 post before being able to send PM's. Prior to this, he was contacting people privately without ever making a post.
