What's up with All Star 58?

I saw this auction on eBay:

and then saw that a 9.6 is listed in GPANALYSIS as having sold for $431.35 this month!!!

 

What's the story on this book?

Now that makes sense. She done be highlighting JSA: Classified and is said to have a major role in Infinite Crisis.

I sold a vf for about $66 a month ago. Then bought a nm- for $69. $3 for an upgrade.

A lot of people seem to unloading to get the high prices as there are mutiple listings every day. JS must have a lot of these as I have seen him sell several already and getting good prices.

The CGC 9.6 just ended last night. I was hoping to snake it for about half that as that's the nicest copy to come up for a while, and since the JSA Classified thing she is being bumped up in prominence. Alas, no.

Many Bronze/Copper books are being tied into Infinite Crisis - All Star 58, Showcase 97, DC Presents 87, etc., etc. Nice little pop if you've got them in your quarter bins.

mm I wounder if I should list my All Star #58 it's a cgc 9.6 I only paid about 20 bucks for it listed as a raw 9.2

a VF closed last night at $31, so it's not a guarantee of instantaneous riches, but i would think you would be able to buy this issue back in a couple of years for a lot less than you could sell it for right now

I've seen a lot of these issues in the CBG lately. They are all (minus AS 58) sitting around my LCS for guide or less though. Also, the all-star run is pretty entertaining.

Where I shop a lot of people are just now waking up to these issues. Even the guy who runs the shop is not aware how hot these issues are right now. It is nice to see DC backissues in the limelight.

I don't know what's up with it. It is more common than dirt in high grade, and they can be found any day of the week. I was at a recent con where some guy set up and had many boxes of comics for 25 cents each. Some dealer picked out a stack of 100 or so 58's in unread condition.
