I also had a buyer on eBay refusing to send to Canada because one time they sent a shipment out to a Canadian and the border rejected it. So now he refuses all Canadians.

Oh I hate that. 'I had a bad experience with an Aussie once, so I've cut them all off, sorry.' There's like 27 million of us, want to point out the offender and we'll go get him for you? Yet the idea of cutting off Americans for the sins of one seems stupid, doesn't it?

Wankers.

Does USPS not have an online system where you can prepare labels and forms and arrange for USPS to pick up packages for a small fee?

Canada Post does and that's how I did all my shipments at peak of Covid...No lines! I still do it from time to time as the fee is minimal ($3) and doesn't matter if you have one or several packages.

Does anyone have any experiences with those delivery services that cut the international fees (while using the same delivery major delivery service)?

I see people using services like package hopper for Australia now, and I’ve used it for some business deliveries (that weren’t consequential), but I wonder if it is safe enough to use for collectibles.

The cost is frequently about half or even less than the comparable international fee from a major delivery service.

Some sellers don’t like the increased vig that PayPal charges for payments from Canada.

Never heard mention of larger PayPal fees before.   Tell me more....

I believe it's an extra 1.5% on top of your PP G&S fee for any cross border payment
