PGM ASM 129 2 2

Hello all!  Long time lurker, first time poster!  I recently picked up some key books from a friend and will post some PGMs of them over the coming weeks/months.  I would like to start with my ASM 129.  It seems like a decent book, but the main issue I see is the fairly heavy foxing on the covers.  If I am missing anything else please let me know.  Thanks for all of your help and insights!  This forum has been a wealth of knowledge!

Slight edge wear, color breaking creases on outer edge, slight staple tears, slightly discolored staples, minor spine stress with a couple of color breaking spine ticks, moderate to severe foxing/mold on both the front and rear covers, inside and outside.

IMO, it is the foxing/staining/mold that is keeping this book from being a higher grade, how does CGC view moderate to severe foxing?, Can it be removed?

An above-average but well used comic book. An accumulation of bindery/printing defects is allowed. Minor to moderate cover wear apparent, with minor to moderate creases and/or dimples. Inks have moderate to low reflectivity. Blunted corners are increasingly common, as is minor to moderate staining, discoloration, and/or foxing. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. A minor to moderate spine roll is allowed. A spine split of up to 1/2" may be present. Staples may show minor discoloration. Minor staple tears and minor stress lines may also be present, as well as minor rust migration. Paper is tan to brown with no signs of brittleness. Centerfold may be loose. Minor interior tears may also be present.

Fits the criteria for Very Good but with an additional virtue or small accumulation of virtues that improves the book's appearance by a perceptible amount.

Thanks all for your grade insights so far.  Here are some closeups of the staples.  Maybe very slight rust on one/both of them, but I might have to take a look at it again with a magnifying glass to confirm.  They don’t look bad to me but of course I am no expert.  Thanks again for any more insights anyone has!!

4.0. Foxing is pretty severe. But regardless, its still a great Bronze Age grail book!

I would say 4.5.

Also, wearing gloves to handle books is a common misconception. You are far more likely to cause accidental damage to a comic wearing gloves. As long as your hands are washed it shouldn't be an issue.
