Popular Post Shrevvy
The board is very good at finding specific books based on their characteristics. I know this is a longshot, but figured it was worth a try. I am looking for a copy of Iron Man #1 that I owned in the 1980s. I came across a copy of the book is some old papers. I distinctly remember not knowing how to grade the book because of the pen mark in the upper left corner. I made the copy because I was going to send it to a dealer to get an opinion on the affect it would have on the grade. I would have sold the book sometime in the early 1990s. It is one of the few specific books (exact book) from this time period I would like to have back for sentimental reasons. If it is a graded copy now, I would pay above GPA (I would pay the equivalent of 1-2 grades above its stated grade). Or, I would replace it with a higher grade copy of the seller's choosing (also 1-2 grades above its grade). if it is raw, I would also pay above market for it. This is the copy. Technology in the 1980s is not what it is today. The most distinctive mark to be made out from this copy is the pen mark in the upper left. jsilverjanet, Krismusic, BlowUpTheMoon and 4 others
jsilverjanet
Good luck, there's a copy of Xmen 141 that I sold here on the boards that was from my childhood that I would love to get back so I know the feeling.
Phicks
It might help to tell us in what city you sold the book? Readcomix
bababooey
Made me look, I remembered a scribble in the same corner of mine. BlowUpTheMoon

It would have been Northeast Ohio or Western PA. It was probably at one of the many single day hotel shows.
Dr. Balls
Keep the faith! I was able to find two sentimental books that I sold off in the 90's twenty years later. With it being an Iron Man #1, it's probably floating around somewhere and not tossed away.
Phicks
I checked my copy. No such mark. Good luck!
telerites
Wow, talk about the proverbial needle but I have three copies and checked them. Sorry but best of luck. I do know someone who had written his name in his books. They were HG SA Marvels and he sold them. Over the years, he started collecting again and came across a couple of them - not that he was specifically looking for his old copies but it is cool to acquire them again. Shrevvy
Thanks everyone for checking. I should note that I would pay a finder's fee should someone see it out in the wild somewhere. It's encouraging that Dr Balls found some books 20 years later. It's weird, I had been randomly thinking about this book this spring. It was just coincidence that I happened to find my B&W cover copy a couple weeks ago. Out riding my bike last night and rode by the spot where I purchased this Iron Man #1 many years ago...
