I always asked for a pack of baseball cards when anyone went to the store and I should have been asking for comics. when I was 10 i got my tonsils out and got to buy a bunch of comics-these are the ones i remember drmccoy74, PopKulture, JJ-4 and 5 others
Popular Post THE_BEYONDER
I still have all my childhood books, but would have to go through them to nail down the very first. This is close to my first Marvel book I believe.... nepatkm, the authority, PopKulture and 3 others
Popular Post kav
I remembered having a lot of comics as a kid but one day I researched all the comics printed from age 8 to 13-the point at which I had enough money to buy any comic I wanted and saw the ones I had-and it was only abt 40 books. In 12th grade they started rerunning the spider man cartoons and I began buying Marvel books. the first marvel I ever bought was spider man 149. I did have 5 marvels I got from friends, these ones-but I didnt like them because the stories were always continued. i did like the spider man 62 because it was a self contained story. when reed richards was trapped in the negative zone and I didnt have the next issue that really bugged me. Popular Post shadroch
The first comic I bought was Spiderman 16. I couldn't read , or at least not read a whole comic and I really liked the yellow costumed hero. Before long, I'd had people read it to me so often, I could recite it. A year or so goes by and I'm really sick. I ask my dad to buy me some comics and tell him Daredevil is my favorite. He brings me a comic with some guy in a red costume who calls himself Daredevil. He's blind too. Just like my Daredevil in the yellow suit. It was all too much for my six year old mind to put together. It really confused me for years, as I saw a yellow suited character called The Fly and Dial A Hero also had a yellow clad guy, so I wasn't sure if I had mis-remembered, as they say. Around 1973, I finally solved the mystery when I found DD wore yellow before switching to red. Popular Post ickwinzs
My mom took me to the store after I got my allowance and I picked this one up. Still the same book I bought off the rack, but I did have Stan sign it back in 2016. I thought it was fitting. I can't believe I kept it in this good of shape all those years. ADAMANTIUM
I don't have the same pics as the last thread... First I read was TMNT adventures 2 or animated series, whatever it was called And the 1st book I bought myself was either my ASM classic subscription or wolverine subscription or I think I remember buying a deadpool circle chase but that was a while later, but for my own coin Edited July 3, 2022 by ADAMANTIUM frozentundraguy, KirbyJack, nepatkm and 1 other

Team America 6 is the first book I remember buying. 🤣🤣🤣 In my defense I was 5 and thought motor cycles were cool. Popular Post boomtown
This was the first book my parents bought for me. It was a 2 part story, and I didn't pick up issue #37 until the mid 1970's, around 10 years later. 30+ years later, while checking out ebay in the early years, I saw the original color separations for the cover on ebay and picked it up. Haven't seen another Avengers color sep since. Around that same time I started collecting original art and one of the 1st pages I saw was my favorite page from this book. I was down at a show in Houston, and little short on cash after picking up a few Mignola Hellboy sketches, so I didn't pick it up. Wasn't concerned, I thought this stuff was all available whenever I decided to get it. I called the dealer back the next week and it had been sold. I haven't ever seen another page from this book in the 20+ years. KirbyJack, Off Panel, the authority and 3 others
