Heritage Superman Auction tonight. 1 1

I just cant wrap my head around all this cool stuff. I'm thinking about most of the flat pieces, the macys/worlds fair stuff. Its a nice cross section of interests for me. But man, that only known copy of Superman #18 with the pin is something else.

Yes that is an unusual piece. I guess the pin is stuck through the cover and paper that says FREE COPY.  I wonder where it was given out in 1942.

The grade on the Supes 18 seems optimistic to me.

Now that the Superman auction is over, 5K for a book that in this grade has never come close to topping 2K? Higher grades on e bay for much less. Some weird wild stuff.

could you imagine if it had a ROCKET STAMP instead of the 319 how much it would have went for!! The sky would have been the limit!! 🙈

I checked the auction a bit late and missed all the stuff I was interested in.  I think most went on the low side

Saffield puzzles - all seemed to be on the lower side.  Not sure if I would have bid on them given they were all dupes for me.

1940 gum card wrapper - really cheap and this one looked real nice.  I would have been tempted to bid on this one

Captain Action costume in the box - I would have thought more $1500 to $2000.  Box was a little rough but not horrible.  I sort of quit buying Captain Action stuff because of the issues with the plastic.

I hope the people paying these prices are not buying these comics for investment purposes.

I think more likely than not the sale isn't going to go through. But who know's, it takes two to bid a book up. This particular book was at 5 grand since nearly the beginning.
