Popular Post Underground44
Having lived through cyclones in northern Australia, I can tell you that these things are scary, life changing, and nothing to joke about. I’ve read a lot of posts on Facebook joking about books getting wet and asking if it will affect turn around times etc. I have a few books at CGC right now but I’m more worried about the people in Florida and their safety. Because, even though they’re on the other side of the world, it brings back the memories of sitting in my basement with my partner and my dog with a mattress over our heads for ‘protection’ and just hoping that we wouldn’t die. Please stay safe. Prince Namor, toro, cyclonus11 and 11 others
Popular Post Kramerica
Stay safe everyone. That's the only thing that matters. Comics are comics. Popular Post joeypost
Looks like the worst is behind us. It's supposed to strengthen to 80+ MPH. There's a mandatory curfew from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and the Sheriff's are heavily enforcing this. The lawn is covered with tree debris, and I am real worried about my large Oak that is tight against the canal. (no room for roots on the canal side of the tree) It forks into two stems close to the ground. Also, the dike for the lake is tunneling the wind up the canal making it stronger there. Kind of a triple wammy for the tree. I was right. It got the neighbors property pretty good, too. Plans to build a seawall were submitted over a year ago, and were catered around this tree. I guess they will have to be resubmitted, and delay the process another year.

As long as you are OK, Mike. I never understood why power line’s are not buried in this state. I have seen one tree take out power to thousand in certain neighborhoods. Our area, which was built between 2-5 years ago had all the lines buried. We all have power despite down trees everywhere. Administrator CGC Mike Posted September 29, 2022 Administrator Share Posted September 29, 2022 Thanks guys, we are fine. I just backed the RV up to the house so, I could use the generator. Popular Post djpinkpanther67
@CGC Mike @joeypost Glad you and your families are safe. Hoping the sustained rain today doesn’t cause any flooding. We’re starting to get 20-30mph winds here in NE GA. I think that will be about all of the effects of the storm we will see. Initial predictions had us getting up to 3” of rain tomorrow, but I doubt we will see much precipitation here, as the current NWS model in our area has dropped it from 80% chance of rain to 30% Stay safe. Watch for displaced critters (pythons, gators etc). I’ve seen countless B horror movies about this stuff, so yes I’m an expert.
