I think it was just because it was so pretty otherwise that I bumped it to 7.5 from 7.0.

4 points with one bullseye.  Makes up for my last crappy round and unlike last time, I rushed through my grading in 10 minutes this time instead of spending an hour scrutinizing every single flaw lol!

I had 4.0 on the Captain Flight. Those staples were rusty as sun. No way that should get a 5.5.  3 points

I had 3.0. Two corner piece missing? A 4.0 also seems very nice. 2 points

8.5 on the surfer. I was harsher on the edge wear I saw. 1 point

I thought that might have been a printing problem, with the paper tearing where it was grabbed to be pulled through the press or assembly step. I discounted it because of that and gave the book an 8.0 otherwise. Close but - as usual - no cigar.

And the soiling. My worst book so far - called it a 4.0 and got 3 points, ouch.  Got a bullseye at least, and six point total, not great, not awful.

I keep doing better too, I'll echo those sentiments at a score of 5, for a total of 22 I believe.

I really missed the pier on the Swamp Thing, and had it at 5.5 for the large gash. Four of the 5 books I had graded  more harshly than GCG, with the only exception being Captain Flight, as I had it at 6.0.

Near the bottom of the list but grading on laptop compared to phone on round 1 definitely helped lol… think I did much better this round but I’ve been out of the running for the top 10 for a bit  but will still continue as it’s great to test and brush up on my grading skills!!! 
 

ps which are definitely rusty… not buying books except for a few moderns for two years in the pandemic really makes u Rusty

On the Surfer I was considering the edge wear as a printing defect. It looks to me like a printing defect and I thought that would not affect grade. Ouch. From 3rd place to who knows where I am now.

All this proves is that at best, grading is a c**p shoot (unless 1 guy who is AMAZING, grades EVERYTHING)...
