I did not think he did a fantastic performance is ZSJL. Okay, sure, but not a real standout performance either. A lot of that is due to the fact that he was more machine than man and special effects were the main part of his character.

The VFX didn't do the emotional work when it came to his father, mother, etc. Most people would say that Miller and Fisher were the standouts in ZSJL. They had the most character development and the biggest impact to the story.

I did not see anything great with either character. It is a superhero movie - acting is secondary.

Honestly if you are a Superman fan, aren't you happier that Superman is going to be front and center in the new DC universe  (as opposed to who the actor playing Superman will be)?

I'm a Shazam fan since childhood. I really like Zach Levi as Shazam. But I would be more upset if Shazam the character wasn't  a part of the new Universe as opposed to Zach Levi being replaced.

I don't know, the baggage is just way too heavy. I am ready to move on. Ray Fisher was cool, but I rather see the character come back, cohesively. This mythology deserves to be done correctly.

No, because I don't trust that WBD has learned any lessons, and I don't trust Gunn to write well for well-known IPs. Having Superman front-and-center in a DCU is a no-brainer. It's not a challenging thought and it's nothing new. I don't trust the guy who threw away something great to create something 'better'. If it's not better (assumed), then what is the point?

I shouldn't scroll through Twitter.

"Hey James, will porn be apart of the new DCU?"

WHAT DID I JUST READ?!?

Isn't it sad when a studio that proclaims as one of its value propositions is being director-driven and this has to be announced?

Recently, Gunn responded to a fan comment on the newly launched social media site Mastodon, where he assured fans that he will not be facing the same trouble former DC universe overseer Zack Snyder had faced. The fan showed his support, saying, “As long as the studio doesn’t override you and your directors at every turn, I for one have confidence that you’ll actually be making decisions for the DCU that I can get on board with.” To which Gunn replied, “The position is different than it was with Zack, etc. Peter & I are the heads of DC Studios. The only studio interference would be from us!”

I didn't even think of that. He is not going to be directing these films. But he will be producing them all.

"I'm not seeing enough dance-offs. I NEED MY DANCE-OFFS!"

James Gunn's Batman v Superman: Batman randomly starts dancing in front of Superman to confuse him while Green Arrow shoots that Kryptonite arrow at him.
