It felt brittle and looks brittle so its quite brittle.

From CGC on a brittle interior: This page designation refers strictly to the compromised structural integrity of the interior paper, which exhibits either heavy multiple spine splits, corner and edge chipping, or both. In some cases pages can appear off-white or white, but suffer from an isolated area of brittleness along the spine that has caused heavy splitting. Brittle pages are sometimes impossible to restore because of their fragile nature. The highest grade allowed for brittle interior pages is 3.5.

the cover/pages are attached although i did not flip through the pages...I'll let CGC do that.

Is this a clean and press candidate?

As long as it is complete, it would be a 1.0-1.5

If brittle, I doubt a presser with much worth would touch it for fear of hurting it. If they felt the paper was strong enough, maaaybe you could get it aligned a little nicer but again, someone experienced should be making that decision.

1.5

A press would make it more presentable but that's it and ain't no way I'd do that if the book was mine.

Thanks for posting.
