Chattels of Eldorado by Edgar Jean Bracco    AvonT-98   1955    $25

White Mountain Pedigree copy with the original owners date stamp on the first page.

Everett Raymond Kinstler Good Girl art cover. One of his earliest Avon covers.

Fine Minus. Stunning overall condition - super fresh, appears unread but has a small ding to lower right of the cover and page edges. Solid straight spine, no creasing except where the small ding is. Small date stamp inside and a light stain on first page only. An incredibly fresh copy of a classic vintage paperback.

Tarzan at the Earth's Core by Edgar Rice Burroughs   Ace F-180    January 1963       $15

Awesome Frank Frazetta cover art on this 1st small paperback printing

Very Good Plus/Fine minus. Spine is totally solid but has slant. A light crease on front left cover otherwise only has light wear and toning. An attractive looking book overall.

Strange Fulfillment by Denys Val Baker  Pyramid Books F681 December 1961  $20

First paperback edition of strange short stories by the Arkham House author. Stated second printing, although I've never seen a first. Scarce weird title with a creepy photo cover by Lester Krauss.

Fine/Very Fine. Glossy and unread. Black covers are in great shape with only a touch of wear. Has a very light line on rear cover, looks like an ink defect. Pages and interior covers are creamy and very nice for this book.  A very nice looking copy of a scarce book.

I apologize for not properly pausing the thread last night but I got called away after posting in the paperback thread and got side tracked. Thanks for everyone participating. I have a fair honey do list for today, but also a fair stack of books I intend to list so I'll be back late afternoon/early evening to resume the party (thumbsu

Back To The Stone Age by Edgar Rice Burroughs   Ace 04632   January 1973      $15

Classic Man vs. Mammoth Frank Frazetta cover art.    The 2nd "Tall" Ace printing.

Very Fine Minus. Square and glossy. Has only light corner wear, tiny bends and light toning. A sweet copy.

Going to start off literally with some big guns

Kiss My Fist by James Hadley Chase       Eton Books E112   Second Printing  May 1952     $75  Now $60

An excellent copy of the hardest boiled title/cover art combination in American Paperbacks. The incredible violent GGA cover is uncredited to date but definitely in the Avon style paced by Raymond Johnson in the early 1950's. The Eton line was Avon's attempt to match Signet's tall format. They suffer from terrible spine and spine glue problems and are often falling apart.

Fine. Solid square spine, great color and gloss. Light edgewear, a few tiny creases. Tiny dot on bottom cover. Pages are creamy and supple. Minimal toning. A very pretty copy of a very tough vintage paperback.

The Whipping by Roy Flannagan               Bantam Books #817             $30   SOLD to mstrange

A crazy Harry Schaare GGA/Hooded figures cover art. Along with "Campus Town", they're the Suspense #3 of paperbacks.

Very Good. Spine is solid but has significant slant, 1 1/2" tear at rear spine. Covers are glossy, pages are uneven but tight and supple. Reader crease, other wise just has a few finger bends and minimal wear.  Despite the mentioned flaws, a very presentable, collectible copy.

Honey In The Flesh by G.G. Fickling          Pyramid Books G411     First Edition PBO  May 1959          $40  Now $32

Gorgeous Harry Schaare Gun Moll GGA cover

A stunning, glossy, new looking copy of this Honey West Private Eye series PBO.

Very Fine. Covers bright and glossy, obviously unread and stored perfectly for 60 years. Great page quality. Light toning to interior, tiny spotting to the page edges. Has some musty odor to it, which is about the only thing I can say that isn't a superlative.

The Savage Chase by Frederick Lorenz    Lion Books 223   September 1954   1st Edition PBO     $40   SOLD per PM

Fantastic wrap around Gangsters & GGA cover art by Al Rossi. Just an amazing, gritty, detailed cover to a tough noir thriller.

A eye popping copy. If you know Lion Books at all, you know how tough they are to find like this.

Very Fine minus. Covers bright with blazing gloss, unread. Great page quality. Light toning to interior. A few light finger bends to the edges. They just don't turn up like this often.

I promised some Popular Librarys in the title so I'll drop a few nice ones in here, including some beautiful Belarski covers to start.

The Chuckling Fingers by Mabel Seeley                    Popular Library 231    1950     A very scarce Popular Library title       $25 SOLD at 20% off to PopKulture

Headlights pulp style cover by Rudolph Belarski - originally appeared on a Popular pulp, I don't have the issue handy, but I find the coloring and detail are so much better on the paperbacks.

Fine plus. Solid square binding. The book appears unread. Almost no wear except a slight impact on top right corner with associated wrinkling on cover and a couple of interior pages. A beautifully presenting copy of a very scarce vintage Popular Library paperback

Batman - The Best of the Original Batman   Signet D2939 Book No. 1 in the 1966 Series       Stated 1st Printing March 1966              $45 Now $40   SOLD - package deal to Tupenny Conan

As I mentioned last month, I've been upgrading this series for several years now and 95% are trashed, another 5% VG-ish and a few here and there that look like the ones I'm listing. The DC signets are a tough run to put together in nice condition.

Fine/Fine Plus. Appears unread, spine is square and unbroken. Has few finger bends to the bottom of the front cover. Pages are off white, inside covers are toned. A great looking copy.

Killer Joker cover - real tough with the pink cover - the edges chip very easily.

Fine. Appears unread, spine is square and unbroken. Has some finger bends to the covers, edgewear. Pages are off white, inside covers are only lightly toned. A great looking copy.

Classic Penguin cover - In my experience, this one is tougher to find nice than the Joker cover.

Fine. Appears unread, spine is square and unbroken. Colors are bright. Has finger bends to the front and back cover. Very little edgewear. Pages are off white, inside covers are only lightly toned. A great looking copy.

Superman   Signet D2966        Stated 1st Printing May 1966              $50  Now $45  SOLD - package deal to Tupenny Conan

The Superman Signet one shot. Lightning striking Superman cover. It's as tough as the Batman Signets to find unread and the white cover is an extra challenge.

Fine Plus. Appears unread, spine is square and unbroken. Colors are bright. Has one light bend along upper right cover corner. Very little edgewear. Pages are off white, inside covers are only lightly toned. Some dust soiling on back cover. A great looking copy.
