I just found this thing I made in the 1970s when I was about 12.. I was such a comic geek. I painstakingly hammered into a sheet of copper or some kind of metal the cover for Superman #6 including the “very truly yours, Clark Kent”, which I remember took me hours. I think I copied it from the pages of Overstreet price guide because I’m positive I didn’t have a copy of Superman number six.

I’m sure a thread like this has been posted before but I would love to see photos of anything people have from their childhood related to comics lol

Great topic. I can vividly remember drawings I’ve done dating back to when I was a 3 year old (50+ years ago) but unfortunately, none of it has survived that I could contribute to the thread. Occasionally, I have bumped into old acquaintances that will bring up days from our childhood when they would ask for a drawing of something that has been packed away in an old box in their folks attic for decades, promising to send a photo if they ever get around to it but I never hear back from them. The same older brother that introduced me to the comics world would always encourage me to practice my artwork but I haven’t heard from him in ages either. Pretty sad now that I think about it but “it is what it is”.

The remarkable thing is that despite being German, Swiss and Austrian they all speak Danish in these drawings. ;)

I'm pretty sure that I was looking at the Mario #3 video game booklet that gave examples of enemies for inspiration. You can obviously tell which ones were "teaching me to draw" and which ones were just off the top of my head imagination
