Do I understand this correctly? You're saying you don't like my posts, can't ignore me as much as you'd like to but came into my thread to make a post ANYWAY? doh!

I'm getting messages from random boardies asking me what's going on and they've commented unsolicited on how every time you appear, moderation appears and then threads get moved to the Watercooler. It's not just me. Everyone sees it.

For gosh's sake, you've even OPENLY STATED IN GENERAL THAT MY POSTS ARE OFF TOPIC AND THAT THE THREAD SHOULD BE MOVED TO THE WC. :D

If you don't enjoy participating, why do you?

This is a great thread and people are obviously loving it. Can we not get it locked?

Thanks.

It's funny because it really isn't.

I don't really have a kryptonite anymore. It's just navigating life. :cloud9:

Probably because that is how you started this thread. Based on the title, I took it differently.

As I get older, I have lost many people important to me. But, I accept it as their time. Nothing I can do about it or change it. Same thing with politics or the crazy world we all live in.

I emerse myself in things that make me happy. My family, music, and my hobbies. Life is good if you welcome the good things in. :foryou:

Agreed... this was the life lesson I learned once I got into my fifties.  Nothing is more important than happiness.  Focus on the things that make you happy and avoid the things that frustrate you or make you angry and you'll find that you'll enjoy life much more. (thumbsu

I was 49 and going into my 50th year when I decided I'm done with negativity and it was magical.

I don't know if I could transform at a younger age. Sometimes it just takes 50 years worth of pain to finally learn your lessons but at the same time, there's a maturity that happens when you pass your previous phase in life. Kids get older, debts get paid down and you think to yourself "what am I living for?"

I've decided to live for other people and will probably do that for the rest of my days. It really is an incredible feeling to do things for others.

You have a problem with anxiety, depression or anything else? That's the cure.

Dave loves low grade junk.

I can't agree but to each their own. lol

There's a story behind this book. Back in the day when he was younger, Dave wanted to own ONE BOOK from the 1940's.

So he bought this book as a one-off.

I'll let him share the gem of a book he passed on to pick this one clunker up.

Yes, that's a wonderful approach to life... selflessness over selfishness.  And bringing smiles to others that have trouble smiling.  Not always easy to do, but am much more conscious of both in my later years.

I was a teenager working in a VW dealership as a young punk when this happened.

McFarlane fever had reached a fever pitch right after the 1989 Batman movie created Bat-mania around the world for arguably the 2nd time in history.

If you don't know how big Bat-mania was in 1989 I'd never seen anything like it.

I think Michael Keaton was more popular then than Taylor Swift is now. lol

And remember, because collectors were complaining about subscription creases, ALL MARVELS WERE MAILED FLAT. :cloud9:

Those two pieces of cardboard worked pretty well back in the day.

One book form the 1930s you mean ;)

I was at Roger's Time Machine back in 2008 and only had a bit of money to spend on books that trip.  I grabbed the abobeve Exciting, and took this bok as well.  I actually passed up a pretty good looking issue of a Centaur Detective Eye (can't remember which one).  Looking back, I really did make the wrong choice on that one...

Thanks for the insight ! I wish I had looked at it better for fun . I can hardly wait to go to see if its any where in the store lol  Out of curisity I see it has Galaga on it , I have never played that I think . Does the controls on it seem similar to the orginal game ? Thanks in advance oh and its cheaper on costco website :insane:

Unfortunately, since it has multiple games on there, there's no way they can have the same controls as the original since every game uses something different, so my guess is it's not.  I used to love Galaga... or was it Galaxian?  I forget. LOL.  If you're interested, Arcade1Up apparently has a subreddit : https://www.reddit.com/r/Arcade1Up/

I've been in the best place of my life since Jan 1st 2020 when I decided never to have a bad day again.

As a NYE promise to myself, I made a vow to take every negative and spin it to a positive. That meant turning obstacles into lessons and it made all the difference in the world.

I was taught the phrase "Amor Fati" by a friend of almost 30 years. The phrase means "love fate" in Latin.

It basically means that no matter WHAT life throws at you, you choose to learn from it and move on rather than wrestle with it, and once this because the guiding pattern in your life you learn to love everything fate throws at you, even the adversity because it's teaching you something and making you better.

That means you don't get emotionally invested in things you can't control and you take charge of the things you can to raise your baseline to the best place it can be.

I genuinely haven't had a bad day in 4 years now. That doesn't mean bad things didn't happen. I've lost many friends to suicide and overdose, I have a history of mental illness in my immediate family, we had the "thing we can't speak about" which was difficult for everyone for years, I've had all sorts of road blocks show up in my life (this place included) and while it sounds implausible, and many may not even believe it I have never had a bad day since.

I've been genuinely happy, peaceful and content every day.

And I've been sharing that message openly to everyone in my circles because there was a time I didn't believe it was possible and now I want to share it with others to enrich their lives.

I'm not sure why you think I wasn't in a better place. I've been in the same place for 4 years and I love it.

Ascending !

Did you all know that Miller's Wolverine Cover may have been based on a Frank Sinatra pic?

I didn't.

While we were hanging, Dave enlightened me.
