Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories #2 (vol. 36, #422)(Gold Key).  This copy is the Whitman variant.  It contains reprints from Walt Disney’s Comics and Stories #1 (169)(Dell Comics, vol. 15).

GD+, or better; tan to cream pages.  This comic is complete.  The scans tell the story, except for showing tears on some pages starting at the bottom edge, as well as the centerfold being detached from the top staple.

$5

Walter Lantz Andy Panda #2 (Gold Key).  This issue contains reprints.

GD, no better; cream to off-white pages (more OW I believe).  Comic is complete, except for the large chunk missing form the back cover.  It’s pretty much the coupon, with part of the coupon still present.

$4

War #35, Charlton Comics.  This issue reprints stories from War at Sea #26 and #27.

GD+, or better; tan to cream pages.  The scans tell the story, except for the mild spine roll.  Charlton Comics is fairly well-known for miscut/misaligned comic production.  A clean/press will help a bit.  Notice the ‘substance’ above the 60c mark.

War #41, Charlton Comics.  This issue reprints stories from Army Attack #2 and #3.

VG/FN, maybe better; off-white pages.  The scans tell the story, but there is no spine roll to explain the miscut/misalignment.  It was stapled that way.  There appears to be very subtle tanning at the bottom of the back cover.  Still a decent looking comic.

War #46, Charlton Comics.  The cover is believed to have been done by Giordano.  This issue contains numerous reprints, and it had a low print run being the second to last issue in the series.

GD/VG, maybe better; off-white pages.  The scans tell the story, but there isn’t much of a spine roll to explain the miscut/misalignment.  There is a bit of ink/paper loss on the front, near the spine (the pistol).  The center wrap is detached from the staple.

The Weird #1 to #4 (limited series, direct).  This 4-part series features work by Bernie and Michele Wrightson.  I'm selling these four comics as intended...a 4-part limited series. :)

FN/VF, or better; off-white to white pages.  All four books have a number of spine stress creases/ticks that very lightly break the ink, with some that barely break the ink.  All four issues show extremely light to light ink rubs on the back cover in spots along the spine, while issue #3 shows some color loss on the front cover.  All of these comics show misalignment and/or poor production cuts to one degree or another.

I will provide back scans on request.

$12 (for the set) SOLD

Werewolf By Night #3.  This issue contains Mike Ploog works, as well as a few 1st appearances by minor characters.

This comic is in pretty bad shape, and it has a fully detached cover.  It is complete, however.

Where Monsters Dwell #28.  The cover was done by Jack Kirby, and the comic contains reprints from Tales to Astonish #9 (origin and 1st Droom), among other publications.

GD, no better; cream to off-white pages.  I'll give this comic an estimate of no higher than Good.  It has too many issues, mainly the TWO pieces of tape on the front cover with 'Steve' written on them.  Damn you Steve!!!

The World of Smallville #1 to #4 (limited series, direct).  This mini-series covers events before, and shortly after, Superman’s arrival on Earth.  I am selling these as intended...a 4-part limited series.

FN+, or better; off-white pages.  All four books have a number of spine stress creases/ticks that very lightly break the ink (especially issue #3), with some that barely break the ink.  All four issues show extremely light to light ink rubs on the back cover in spots along the spine, very light ink rubs (if any), and very light soiling on the back covers along the spine.  Issue #1 looks to have potential bug chew on the interior pages at the bottom right corner, while issue #4 shows a very mild vertical indentation on the front cover that can be pressed out.

I will provide back scans on request.

FN+, or better; off-white pages.  The biggest problem is the small edge tears on the front.

World War Stories #3.  This issue features stories based on WWI.

FR, give or take; cream to off-white pages.  This comic has some major issues.  There is a tear on the front cover, starting at the bottom, that goes through the page.  It is still attached by about two inches of paper.  I found the comic this way...the tear may have occurred when it was taken out of, and put back into, the comic bag.  I was extremely careful when putting this comic into a new Golden Age-sized back with board.  The cover, and the first two wraps, are detached from the bottom staple.

Yogi Bear Birthday Party, Four Color 1271.  Using four-color plates in production, this comic is loosely based on the 2-part T.V. episode 'Birthday Party'.

FR, maybe better; off-white pages.  This comic is complete and readable, but there are sizeable tears on the spine that leave partial detachment of the cover at the staples.  There is a sizeable spine roll, while the back cover has a postage label that is partly removed from the page creating tape pull.  The tear below the bottom staple (more evident on the back) goes through the whole comic, being no bigger than an inch on the back.

This thread is done...I don't expect to add any more comics here.  I'll leave it up for a bit while I work on my Modern Age Ghost Rider thread.

Thanks for visiting!!! :)
