I would like to make a point here about shipping Overseas.

The prizes here are fairly heavy, nevertheless they will be packaged securely and will probably end up being shipped to the States, so that's Overseas to me. It's not a big deal.

I hope that people who enter (if they sell on the Forums) may consider including the UK in their shipping options going forward.

It is a source of constant disappointment to me to see so many Boardies not shipping to the UK in their threads, especially even some Boardies I have sold to over the years, and shipped their stuff from the UK to the States.

It's really not a hard thing to do. You pack the shipment securely, you get it tracked, you insure it, and you charge the buyer the actual cost. If I can do it, and have been doing it for years....anyone can.

Just a thought.  

NB. There is no charge for shipping to the winner in this comp. It's on me.

But there was a summer, more than a decade ago... when members of my staff and I had an usually slow few days in the office... and someone had remarked on seeing an "Ipswich Shellfish" Company truck on the road. We all noted just how much of a mouthful saying "Ipswich Shellfish" is (try it!) - so we repeatedly called up their corporate office just so we could hear their poor staff people struggle to say "Ipswich Shellfish... good afternoon."

It NEVER stopped being funny.

Again, to repeat. Not remotely proud of that. :facepalm:

The Competition will now officially take place. I now have the pre-requisite minimum number of entries.

People are still welcome to participate of course, but the entries will be shut down at 2pm UK time on Friday. That's 9am ET,  6am PST.

Half an hour after entries close I will post up the actual mechanics of the comp.

New entries are welcome for the next approx. 34 hours.
