It is amazing, but I actually prefer 29.
Just more to love! Happy birthday, Bats.

I do as well. One day, I hope to snag a 29. I'd be fine without a 31.

Did Bob Kane actually draw that cover? I've read elsewhere that his name often when on work created by artists that he hired.

It is interesting to think, Batman was likely made a detective to shoehorn him into the Detective Comics theme. If he'd been slotted for e.g. Adventure or More Fun, the mix might have been a bit different to the detriment of the character's longevity.

Cheers, Bats!

. . . Tec 31, where most blue label copies that come up seem to always look like train wrecks.

Most guys hang onto their copies. Can you blame them?

It was high on my want list years ago, but I could never find a copy with nice pages, and I've long since been priced out of any copy that isn't a rag.

There is a new mag size Batman series like Year One (1939) but with more detailed art by Mike Perkins. Cover homage to Batman silhouette from Detective 27.

I liked the story, but am not a fan of magazine size.
