Superman 1, Real or Fake??? 1 1

Considering that last Superman cover that was on Ebay ended up being real, I'm not sure anymore lol. This isn't a real Supes 1 though right? Just a beat up treasury edition?

I know how to spot the differences between Action Comics 1 and it's Famous First Edition. Cover artwork differences that is, not just the size difference.

I don't know about Superman 1. But looking at the pics, especially with the seller's hand as a size reference, this book looks big. Too big. I say it's not original.

Nevermind. Now I know how to spot the difference.

This seems to hold up in comparison with the Famous First Edition.

But check out the Church copy. It's 10¢ price is "butted" left.

See I normally look at that too, but the guy who was selling a superman 1 cover for $12K on ebay also had like 0 feedback and it ended up being real haha

That's what I thought. I don't understand how they get away with these scams. Obviously noone's buying, but he's pitching a fake version. So should be illegal or just against Ebay guidelines.

Anyone who is spending that kind of money on a book will do their research first and figure out the authentic copies from the fake or reprinted ones.

Both the foot and the 10cent thing don't seem very reliable. I think it's easiest to tell by the overall canary yellow brightness of the cover, but if you want an easy thing to look at, check out the white streaks of the block letters in the logo "Superman" - specifically the "uper" part.  On the reprint, they are very wide, long white streaks, on the original they are much thinner and don't go all the way to the end.

 This goes to the end. I do see the original on the U-P- E in superman they have 3 white lines the reprint has 1 big white line.

Also the Dept. # seems to be missing or blanked out from the inside of back cover ad, thus a FFE reprint of Superman 1.
