Kyle123
Hey all, just wondering hat you think of these two comics? Pretty sure they're fake, condition is too nice, and the entire situation is pretty suspect (including price). If they're fake, they're pretty good ones though... Thanks! KCOComics
The ASM 1 is a Golden Records reprint from 1966. You can tell because it has no pricing box. I took two pictures from ebay. The original is the signature series with the $0.12 in the upper left. The other is the reprint, which looks like this one. I don't see any signs the Hulk 181 is fake, but where there is smoke, there is usually fire. Point Five and BlowUpTheMoon
godzilla43
and with Hulk 181 you don't have couple of bronze marvel comics that you can compare it to?
cousin itt
The chains breaking around wolvie are pinkish/white on that copy, and dark gray on other copies. Point Five
Yorick
Hulk 181 looks like a photocopy cover. Point Five
Lazyboy
The Spidey looks pretty real, but the Hulk... not so much.

That's why "GRR" is in the thread title. He's just wondering if it's real or counterfeit. On 6/8/2024 at 3:13 AM, KCOComics said: I don't see any signs the Hulk 181 is fake Look closer. Popular Post Point Five
Yeah, the blues look really washed-out on that Hulk #181. I'd hold out for a better counterfeit. Lazyboy, RockMyAmadeus, Hepcat and 3 others 1
auboy77
Yea the GRR looks real but the 181 looks like a fake cover. Really good copy of the interior if it’s fake too. The square staples on the 181 doesn’t look right. Point Five
Qalyar
Well, that IH181 is absolutely not okay. Cover colors are always tough to tell in isolation because lighting can do weird things with color... but I really don't think these are correct. I suspect a color copy cover. Also, those staples are not remotely believable as legit IH181 staples. The ASM 1 GRR looks okay from these pics, but if these have the same provenance, I'd be extremely careful checking for restoration or other book manipulation. The GRR is nowhere near as valuable as the "real" ASM 1, but it's not exactly a cheap book on its own merits. Point Five
