The OFFICIAL "This week in your ORIGINAL ART collection?"

Took a trip across the island. I went from place to place looking at Vintage gumball machines and signage but nothing wow'ed me. I wanted to find something I could not find on eBay or most of the rest of you could find. Then I saw something that caught my eye. I picked up two pieces. I checked them out to make sure... but these are two pieces of original art from a residential Long Islander, Bourke Sweeney, who drew cartoons while on active duty in the Pacific. These cartoon would appear in military publications during WWII. The top corners of the backs are affixed to cardboard right now but when you turn the page over it has the military approval stamps and signatures and additional information.

The first cartoon caption reads: "Do you think it'll rain?"

The second cartoon caption reads: "He's been hanging around ever since we camouflaged that gun."

New to this board today!

In the last couple of months I traded Mike Burkey for a Ditko/Wood page (the death of Menthor), bought a beautiful Richard Corben interior page from the Corbens, bought two Blondie strips at auction, bought an Al Williamson Secret Agent Corrigan strip from the Donnelly's (in spite of what I've read on this board), and bought another Corrigan strip from a collector.

I haven't figured out how to link the images here directly, or link to CAF, so I'll have to work on that...can someone tell me how?

I got another cover in. Terminator #1.

This is the most iconic Terminator comic out there. 1st issue of the 1st series from Dark Horse. Dark Horse has produced about 30 different Terminator series over the past 3 decades. This is the cover that started it all! Heavily used by Dark Horse for their advertising as well. It doesn't get any better than this!

Here's a link to my CAF page.

Not a new piece of art, but a new signature on an existing piece.

A few years ago, my daughter became a Dr. Who fan. It turned out that same year that Comicpalooza had four Drs. Who as guests. So, I did the obvious. I commissioned Thom Zahler of Love and Capes fame to do a piece with all of the Drs. Who on it and I got it signed by those four Drs.

Since then she's added several of the companions and, just this year, she's added three more Doctors: Peter Capaldi at Fan Expo Dallas, Matt Smith at WW Austin, and David Tennant at Alamo City Comic Con.

Fair warning, Tom Baker (4), John Hurt (War Doctor), and Christopher Eccleston (9), we are on your trail!

Early Dr. Strange page from Strange Tales #171 with The Ancient One and Clea. Dr. Strange reveals the saga of his beloved Clea.

Strange Tales #171

Did you see the movie yet?

Isn't this from Dr Strange (solo title) rather than Strange Tales???

You're right, it is Dr Strange #171 (Retitled from Strange Tales beginning #169). Corrected my post, thanks Terry!

Finished putting Escapo's frame together yesterday. A little more ostentatious than I usually go, but I felt like the character of the piece warranted the extra flair in the moulding just this once. Dunno what Paul Pope would think of it, but I dig it lots.

It looks a bit wee in the photo, but the OA is roughly double-spash size on a single sheet. A bit of a monster.

The art-only image is in my CAF gallery for any folks that want a better look...
