It’s a gorgeous book but the upper cover overlap is a bit smaller than what it should be I think, does anyone think it could have been micro-trimmed?

8-8.5...top right corner has a crease..and looks like a half cm tear on top edge

I doubt it.  20-25 years ago, many key books were trimmed.  This book was not popular and less desirable until now.
