yea, that is pretty bad. i am amazed that it received a 9.4,

and even more amazed it's up to 600.00 bucks. i could pick that

up at a show for 15 bucks.

 

alright, i retract my 15 bucks statement. just looked it up.

Yeah that was a pain to find.

I actually found that a crappy Houston, TX con about 5 years ago.

 

You never know what you will find if you dig hard enough.

Paid $20 for it. (I keep good records of my purchases).

Hey check out this letter I found in my Unexpected #126 reader by none other

than Carmine Infantino explaining the price jump to 25 cents.

 

“you will notice that we have given you with this magazine more pages for your hard-

earned bread – not just ordinary pages, but specially selected stories that we we’re

planing for a special time….and that time is now!”

 

got to love it.

All Kirby's books made particularly good use of the extra space, not only reprinting his Golden Age stuff but fitting in those two or three page featurettes that added details to the Fourth World storyline.

 

And yeah, that Infantino letter is embarrassing!
