Okay, everyone, this is it! Time to vote for your favorite Silver Age covers.

 

 

There are three simple steps for casting your votes:

 

1) Cut and paste the following ballot to your pm.

 

1st favorite cover (#1) = 10 points:

2nd favorite cover (#2) = 9 points:

3rd favorite cover (#3) = 8 points:

4th favorite cover (#4) = 7 points:

It didn't take that long. After my initial screening, I only had 19 to choose from. The top 5 were easy, so really only had to narrow the remaing 14 down to 5. Despite all the fabulous covers, this really wasn't so hard. Can't wait to see the results!

I found this to be extremely difficult. I have a lot of "favorite covers".....

 

And it was also hard to think of my personal favorites, vs what I would consider the best "classic covers". There are a lot of covers that have sentimental marks to me, that others may not think of as being particularly aesthetically pleasing. So I actually made two lists: my faves, and the best from an artistic standpoint. I only sent the faves to mica and comicbookguy

As one of the two talliers from the bronze age poll, let me just tell you that your plan is doomed to failure if you're requiring everyone to PM both of you. You're better off having everyone PM results to one person and having you and Mica tally up the totals separately using the same data if you want a second set of eyes doing the counting. When Jason and I did the bronze age poll, we had 20 people out of around 70-some total people who failed to send PMs to both of us despite having told people to do that in about 20 different places on the boards and despite PMs to several of those people telling them to pass their info along to the other person. It wound up being a frustrating mess to try to tally our numbers, and in the end we wound up just using Jason's data.

Why doesn`t whoever receives a PM immediately PM back to the sender asking him if he sent a PM to the other guy too?

 

Yeah, it`s probably more hand holding than should be necessary since following the simple instructions isn`t brain surgery, but it doesn`t seem like that difficult a problem to overcome either. If a person doesn`t PM both after a personal reminder like that, then his votes simply shouldn`t be counted.

while you show something that doesn't appear to be from the SA as -

Look, I don't care how these guys do it. I'm just trying to save them the same headaches that we went through.

 

And I agree with your last sentence, but that's a secondary issue. I don't see the need for people to have to send their PMs to two people in the first place. It's a lot less work for one guy to get the PMs and then give the overall data to another person to do a second count, than it is to have to hound people to send PMs to both people and then go over the entire list with the second person to make sure both people got all the same PMs.
