Bronty
I'll let AS speak for himself, but I think he was just saying that some people with the money to buy big books make some strange decisions - see that copper age x-men thread (#79(?) in 9.6 for $2600 )

buttock
I don't think that was a shot at you at all.. I hope you're right Bronty.....it was one of those comments that could be taken one of several ways, and with the whole email thing vs. face to face to thing, it can be hard to tell sometimes, as many of us have seen all to often on these very Boards.....especially since the comment lacked any of these: ) Or maybe you were drunk. adamstrange
"note to self......do not sell off everything I own to buy up every Superboy #1 I can possibly find" And yet they sold for approx the same price proving that the people with the money to spend made a different decision than most of us would. Takes all kinds... Hey AdamStrange, I could be wrong, but I'm taking this is an unwelcomed sarcastic dig towards me?....... I'll let this one slide......this one Not really directed at you at all -- just thought it might be a useful reminder that our little world on the forum is not the same as the real world. There was no kidding emotican because I wasn't kidding nor I was intending to be critical. One of the benefits of the the www is that individuals who might not otherwise congregate can form small groups with the like-minded. It has it's downside if that group only associates with fellow travellers. I was pondering that when I saw all of us save one chose the MF 53. As usual we had a boardie come through and provide another viewpoint.

JJBEE2001
Well I guess I'm the oddball. I'd go with #28 because I love the pre-hero covers of Detective, Adventure, More Fun, etc. There's so many hero covers & very few non-hero ones. Just my opinion, even though they're both very cool. Not in the Batman pantheon, at least the pre-robin variety. You only get 7 chances for those vs. 30 covers without him pre-robin. I love the pre-hero covers too, but I gotta go with the Bat on this one.
