That Tec 27 only sold for 50K in '04. It's really gone up to 90K in the last 3 years (doubled)?

indeed it has...if you were not watching during the heritage years of summer of 2003 to fall of 2004, you missed out seeing about 6 copies of tec 27, all cgc blue from 1.0 to 3.0 to 4.0 (multiple copies) and a slight 6.0 be offered, and I think 3 more were on ebay during that same time...there was a little swing down in the price, due to the quantity temp available, relative to supply, and the economy was a little slower then (rebounding post 9/11).... "that" was the time to buy tec 27's!

but today, all pre robin tecs are back in the 1.5 to 2x guide mode, with 35 being the exception, it is about 4-5x guide!

A lot of the major books have, a Tec #31 CGC 5.0 sold for $8,000 in 2004, then $13,500 in Novemeber 2006, the Crippin 5.5 sold for $17,327 a year ago so these books are red hot and no signs of slowing down.

And this increase in price all so accurately captured by Overstreet as evident by the following:

1) Value of 'Tec 31 in Fine 6.0 in 2004 guide was $8,445

2) Value of 'Tec 31 in Fine 6.0 in 2007 guide now at $10,200 for an almost 21% increase in value over 4 years

As for the doubling in value for the VG 'Tec 27, Overstreet must definitely have this one right as evident by the following:

1) Value of 'Tec 27 in VG 4.0 in 2004 was $62,500

2) Value of 'Tec 27 in VG 4.0 in 2007 now at $67,000 for a huge 7.2% increase in 4 years. Now, that's what I call doubling! lol

Interesting to note that the OS values were a lot closer in 2004 and probably even a bit on the high side as compared to now. Of course, not sure if we've had any sales lately to verify the higher dollars that we are throwing around. hm

don't have to have sales data to know what I would likely be willing to pay...that is where my numbers came from (that, and obvious trends of late) :)

Both of these keys sold for $34,500 in 2005.

The AA16 is tied with 3 other copies as the highest certified, but as we have seen from fellow Forumites such as Bangzoom, there are substantially nicer copies out there. Which one would you choose, and why ????

yeah, not even close. May as well be AA16 vs. spawn #1....

AA16 all the way, far better book in every regard, condition doesn't even enter the picture for me on this one.

I'd take both Church copies, but if the Tec 1 didn't have extensive resto but slight, I would have taken that over the TN9 and I'm a Top Notch collector. All things being equal, the TN9 is not that big of a book without the Pedigree factor, although the naked women floating in the fire is pretty cool and the stories are great.
