Once again I will bring this up, as this is starting to rear its ugly head:

I thought we decided this earlier, but apparently not:

To eliminate any multiple browser/quick reply BS, could we please put in an addendum that states the prospective buyer's :takeit: post must either a) quote the book in question or b) link to the original post that the book was offered in.

We had a problem in a previous thread of Nic's whereby some buyers were abusing the "Quick Reply" function in order to be there first, linking to older posts and then editing them later. By eliminating this loophole, and requiring either a scan quote or direct referral to the originating for-sale post, we will create a better selling environment and have much fewer disputes.

Thank you.

i think this is a great idea, with virtually no way of being enforced after the fact. if we can get Forumites to pledge not to throw :takeit: without quoting the actual book in question, then maybe it will work...

i for one can say i won't ever buy a book with the takeit without quoting the book in question. ymmv

I won't either, but the real key is getting the SELLERS to agree to this, and state it up front in their auctions.

Once a couple of these "quick reply, then edit later" guys loses a few books, then the tide will quickly turn.

My poor Whizzes have just about been knocked off the first page after six hours.

Well, your thread title sounds like either a personal problem or kinky porn. :kidaround:

Then again that usually brings out the normal riff-raff around this place. :jokealert:

I think that members should not be allowed to comment on a sellers listing mistakes by entering their comments, as a reply, in a sellers post. I think that if a comment or suggestion needs to be made, it should be done with a private message.

Just my 2 cents worth
