Now, I have no need to collect the comics but have been known to pick up some cheap when flea marketing. I enjoy the Spin and Marty epidoses on Mickey Mouse Club. (Much better than the Annette serial at least). I think the comics are fine. There is some nice Dan Spiegle artwork in some of them. I even have the Spin and Marty theme song single. I like wierd stuff I guess. I remember a few years back I was at a convention and pulled out a bunch of Spin and Marty comics and when I gave them to the dealer to check out he asked why I bought those. I said, "I just like Spin and Marty" and he said, "I've never heard that before" Edited January 9 by bobpfef AJD, PopKulture, Robot Man and 1 other 3

We watched it with my kids a couple of years ago when they were the right age, right around the first time they went to sleep-away camp. Was quite fun. Scrooge
Was filing a few books this week and scanned this one - and its nice back cover - Thanks to the name associated with the back cover, I was able to quickly find the source for the drawing - and here larger - if you study the face of Ada-ki-yazzi, you'll see how well the artist captured the likeness. I thought from the text and dress that the person was from a previous generation but in the magazine, as they discuss the cover, it's clear that this is a contemporary photo (1950 / 1951) and the artist just cribbed and cobbled a few pieces of information from the magazine. Ada-ki-yazzi's day job was as caretaker for a Hollywood permanent movie set erected near Monument Valley. adamstrange and AJD

I also collected the non-FC issues of Spin & Marty. Easy, short and fun run. Been thinking of you lately, I just picked up a complete set of the Lone Wolf & Cub trades and started a re-read. bobpfef

FWIW, for me, it's not so much buying a Spin & Marty meet Annette that makes me question sanity but having to buy FC 545 which is only a partial reprint of FC 92, especially since the new cover is not a selling point for the reprint - Earlier issue - AJD, OtherEric and adamstrange
AJD
Speaking of partial reprints... this Australian O.S.41 (1952) reprints only the title story of Four Color #379, in black and white OtherEric and Get Marwood & I

It's one of the very few times when an animator who worked on the movie then did the comic adaptation; Kelly was one of the animators on the scenes inside the whale. Here's a couple of the worst examples: The original, the school book club edition, and the later reprint. Or, since those are all at least semi-distinct, these two, where the only difference at all is the number: Edited January 12 by OtherEric AJD and Scrooge 1

Being able finish a comic and get an entire story is a nice change from the extended story lines in modern comics.

OtherEric
I remember when Dark Horse first released the tiny books of Lone Wolf & Cub. I bought the first one to see what the big deal was, but knew there was no way I was going to read through all 28 volumes. By about book #8 it was on the top of my reading pile every month all the way to the end. I should dig them out and re-read them one of these days. OtherEric
Two in today. First up, the last Four Color issue of Walt Disney's Zorro I needed. Not that I have any of the pre-Disney Zorro 4C's yet. I hadn't bothered with this one before because unlike the other six, Toth didn't do any art in this one: kaculler
OtherEric
And, more importantly, Four Color #1354. I don't think it's actually a particularly hard to find issue, but there's definitely something of an aura about it as the end of an era: PopKulture, AJD and kaculler
