Tri-Color Brian
A fairly recent pickup. Love that cover, although I think the narration box could have been better handled. Nice...I've never seen that one...

Yellow Kid
That's a beautiful copy of Christmas for Shacktown, one of my very favorite Barks books. It looks nicer than a 7.0. Great book!

I bought them both off of eBay relatively cheaply. I mainly sent them in just for a resto check so I'm happy!

sacentaur
FC 50. That's a beauty! +1 I've never really paid that much attention to the Kelly books, but overall I'm kind of surprised how inexpensive they are...?
Sqeggs
FC 50. That's a beauty! +1 I've never really paid that much attention to the Kelly books, but overall I'm kind of surprised how inexpensive they are...? I think most Dell's are underappreciated these days. Many books are widely available in mid grade and below, but high-grade copies of non-Barks duck books are often pretty tough. A few are almost impossible. It's surprising to me how much better these FTP (and related books) covers are in comparison with his contemporaneous WDC&S covers. Almost makes me wonder whether he dashed off the WDC&S covers, while these other books were a labor of love. I'm sure sales of the WDC&S issues were much higher, though. I also agree with you on Kelly's WDCS output. There are covers in that run I really like but part of that has to do with the "gag" involved. I much prefer his FTP's, Nursery Rhyme Four Color's, Our Gangs's, Pogo's etc... His best work is just tremendous.
