My first experience with Popscomicbooks

I don't know what's funnier- the fact they think their rant helps prove their integrity to the ebay buyer, or the tough guy attitude when in truth they're probably big time wusses.

You just earned yourself an honorable mention in their next rant buddy!!!! (tsk)

Tina goes off on a rant against me and also Steve Meyer.

Wow.....I just read her comments about me for the 1st time.....I am honored to be worthy of such a long, multi-paragraph rant!

Now that I think about it, I once and once only made a comment on a Popscomics thread here on the Boards that I thought a buyer would be safe to buy a graded book, but not safe to buy a raw book due to overgrading.....and I have earned my own diatribe! I forgot all about this single Boards posting--- because I have a life to live, and that's why I was suprised to hear about this when Esquirecomics brought it to my attention a few days ago.

I left positive feedback for Tina on a few purchases ......but she did not 'block me' from bidding as far as I know, and if she did, I could care less.....I simply decided I would never purchase from her again due to my experience with the raw purchases.(overgrading and glorified condition descriptions...not worthy of negative feedback, but really pushing the limits)

But what REALLY gets my goat is that she called me "Fruitloops" !!! Here I have been branding myself for years with the "showcase-4" name, thinking it was really cool, but now that something better has come along, I must upgrade and make changes.

Check eBay soon for a new batch of GA books listed by me under my new eBay name: "Fruitloops"

....and Mark, I didn't know you chased ambulances for a living...they never mentioned that when I saw you interviewed on Hannity and Colmes :baiting:

I'd say something, but Tina scares me...

She scares me, too...and I don't have "a man's bone in my body" ...I guess that means, I'd have to deal with her personally...

Funny thing, I'd love to see that blocked bidder list, being on it, must be like the honor roll...

Their diatribe reminds me of a famous political tactic of turning your opponents strength into a weakness. There's something very rovian about it.Toss in the talk radio echo machine with all the personal insults and voila, online ebay performance artist specialising in comic book, snake oil merchandising. There's also something very wild west and carnival sideshow about this form of denunciation. One of the problems is that they are so long winded. Who actually reads all that stuff. Early on I assumed these people played fast and loose with the truth, almost as if it were part of an act and that one wouldn't mind being ripped off if they were entertained while the rip off was occuring. Among the collectors I've dealt with over the years, it was common knowledge to avoid these guys unless you wished to be disapointed.

Some interesting logic. Showcase is banned because he was critical of Popscomics' grading AND he was critical of Popscomics because he was banned. All with one post.

In Star Trek, the writers would always throw in a temporal rift or two to get the plot going.

I just read their latest rant. Wow, what to say?

Lots of good stuff there. Kind of funny that a seller that has hidden behind ebay's private feedback function for so many years (until ebay took it away!) is so obsessed with others "hiding behind a computer".

I was hoping to make the list myself...maybe next rant... :(

I remember a book that I wanted to buy from them. Raw with their typical small scans and lots and lots of hype. The grade wasn't listed but their price sure was. I asked them what the grade was but they declined to grade it. Then I asked how they had come up with a value if they didn't know what the grade was. In response, I was banned from bidding on their future auctions. I couldn't have been happier.

If we read between the lines I think we can get to the truth....

Tina deplores "spineless weenies", "limp-", and men without a bone in their bodies!

Towards the end she says "my husband would never lay a hand on a woman"

Sounds like Tina needs some "Good Customer Service" if you know what I mean!

Who wants to volunteer?

This might be the funniest rant I've heard in a long time, and demonstrates a complete lack of professionalism.

While Zaid doesn't specifically "chase ambulences", I guess as a plaintiff's lawyer I could be one. Of course, I'm quite certain that they're spineless themselves, because only "weenies" make threats they know they can't carry out and post long threads with complete venom. What a bunch of .

This thread just ruined my day. The GA artist poll in General got me thinking. So, I became interested in this...

Eisner Spirit

I emailed about the staple and got "not sure if it is rust".

So, with the comments above and the response, I'm walking away empty handed. :sorry:

I have always thought you were a smart man... :foryou:

PS I saw it too, said "EEP", and promptly closed the auction...

Got a notification from ebay about this book and clicked on the link. As soon I saw the seller, I closed the browser window (tsk)
