adamstrange
I picked up some Avon PBs at used bookstore that was going out of business. They were premium priced but with the GOOB discount they seemed reasonable to me.

BangZoom
Anyone have Lovecraft's lurking fear by Avon? It's the only decent paperback I have had, the cover is so nice! Here is one of my Lurking Fears. This is the shelf where it normally nests. I also collect holiday candles manufactured by the Gurley Novelty Company in the 1950's and early 60's. BB-Gun
I picked up some Avon PBs at used bookstore that was going out of business. They were premium priced but with the GOOB discount they seemed reasonable to me. I thought this splash was pretty good even though it isn't the same as the Avon cover. Those pb are in pretty good condtion by the way. bb

Eleven copies of Georgia Boy published by Avon!!! You have a lot of paperbacks (how many?). Do you have a warehouse? I knew a guy who collected paper and he had several sheds built to hold his collection and there was no room in his house except a narrow path to walk in. He lived in NJ but I haven't heard from him in a while. Perhaps you should contact Shiverbones about the Halloween cards. He is making new ones which are instant collector's items. bb
Scrooge
I knew a guy who collected paper and he had several sheds built to hold his collection and there was no room in his house except a narrow path to walk in. He lived in NJ but I haven't heard from him in a while. Hopefully his collection didn't cave him in!! I have heard of similar situations with some pulp collectors whose collection took over the house ... To get back to the pic!! Multiple copies of certain books. Do you keep multiple of the ones you like?
BangZoom
To get back to the pic!! Multiple copies of certain books. Do you keep multiple of the ones you like? Back before vintage paperbacks began to be considered collector's items, many used book stores didn't like to carry 25¢ or 35¢ cover priced books in their inventory because customers felt they were being cheated if the store asked for more than the original selling price (most stores had a 50¢ - $1 minimum). As a result, a bunch of stores I frequented would throw the old books away or let them accumulate in a back room. When I began to collect vintage paperbacks and started asking about them in stores, I found many dealers were willing to give me boxfuls of them for free or for a super cheap price. I took whatever I found.
BangZoom
You have a lot of paperbacks (how many?). I think it's in the neighborhood of approximately 30,000 (that's counting dupes, too).
