Some highlights from a Half Price Books run. I never see New 52 Batman but they had some decent runs of Batman and Detective I picked up. I’ve never read Bone so I got 5-6 issues at .50 each, why not?

Found the entire Punisher volume 5 1-12 run at Half Price Books. This is the “Welcome Back Frank” run.

Hoping this was simply a coloring error, otherwise Strong Guy may be getting a visit from the police for public indecency!

I don’t know how anyone can stomach modern pricing. $5 a book is robbery, even for an A-list title like Batman. You’re getting a 10 minute read and nothing truly earth shattering is likely to happen. Just hard to justify. That is also who I stopped buying boxes/packs of sports cards. No big deal back when they were .25, but $3 for a standard pack is just insanity.

I think it’s a safe bet X-Men will see a major bump when they’re finally introduced in the MCU, but any key you want from them is already super expensive as is and widely known.

The Tick #4 should be noted as the 1st appearance of Arthur, a major character in the series. The Tick #1 may be noted as first cameo of Arthur since he is in the background in one panel.

I’m happy to wait a few months and get any new books I care about from the dollar bin. If I miss keys in my runs then so be it. in the 90s I got priced out when trying to collect too many books off the rack, especially the endless crossover events that you “had to” buy multiple titles to understand what was going on.

Fundamentally changing everything the character is about is so crazy. What happened to “if you don’t like it, don’t read it”?

Sweet Half Price Books haul of $1 Batman books. I bought 75 books which included a run of Detective from 1001-1056 (missing 1012 and 1027). I went I the other HPB as well and could have easily bought 50 books there since they had huge runs of Daredevil, Darkhawk and Punisher that I would have grabbed, but literally every book they had was priced at $2 (there were no keys if any kind, just run fillers). Sorry, those mid-run Excalibur books aren’t moving at that price. I only bought the .50 cent bargain bin Daredevil book there.

Why not just sell this and buy a 3.0 that isn’t restored??

It is for all Memorial Day weekend (including Monday), at least in my area.

Half Price Books 20% off finds, also got some other less interesting stuff. I don’t know how rare the newsstand Deathlok 1 is but the character is cool so it’s worth it. They also had a nice looking Batman 222 behind the glass but in typical HPB fashion it was priced at $145.

Was Walt Disney an avid signer or hard to come by?

Punisher is tied up to the barrel of the worlds largest gun (you know, instead of just killing him they have to make a show of it). But fear not! Old Frank has his diamond fingernail polish that can cut the ropes and save him from a likely doom. It should be noted that the worlds largest gun also has iron rings at the barrel for just such an occasion when someone needs to be roped to it. this is one of those those things that I’m simultaneously thinking “so lame” and “hell yeah!”

Depends what they are, but I’d think ending up with ASM1 would be the right move.

Darkhawk 1 newsstand. Paid $10. Punisher Armory 9. I really don’t like this series, but since it’s only 10 issues I buy them when I find then for a buck or two. They read like the author is copying ads from a Soldier of Fortune magazine. I bet I would have loved this series in the 90s but it’s just really dated now. It does have iconic covers in nearly every issue though.

I’d get A just for the nicer wrap if all else is equal.

Bought a huge Punisher lot on eBay that had 10 one-shots and 20 books for less than a dollar each before shipping (and barely more than a dollar each after). These are the one-shots. I guess Born is actually a 4-part mini series. amazingly in a 30 book lot I only had two two of the issues already.

Is there a Miracleman omnibus/TPB that is considered the best version I should be on the lookout for?
