  1. That looks great. Can she do one of the great pie fight in Scrooge 5?
  2. My first glance at the boards in ages. When does summer vacation start? Is the 16-page surprise that the first four wraps are text stories and ads printed on glossy paper with sepia ink? I just got a Crime Does Not Pay 45 (sorry, no scan, no working scanner, and at the moment no office to put a scanner in) and was surprised myself. Jack This scan was the first interior page of issue 49 which had 12 pages of ads, 1 letter page and 2 pages of text. Art by Tuska and additional features by Palais and Alderman filled out the issue. Pretty good stuff but a little bloody and gruesome. I imagine the content was similar in issue 44. Welcome back Jack, I spent my summer on the golf course cause I had no classes to teach. You must have been stuck doing research and writing grants.
  3. I always like this cover. I think my scanner turned the flesh a little gray compared to these others but it is still pretty good.
  4. Virgil did covers too. This one is the bee's knees and they reduced the price to Ten Cents.
  5. nice group shot! Hey, thats pretty nice. Good luck on the #9 Thanks. Always keeping my eye out for a copy. Spotted this one in the "B" box.
  6. Congratulations, Bill! I still think the guy on the MF 68 cover needs a white lab coat.
  7. you never need an excuse to post books like that We could, however, put out a reward for information or his capture. I hope these items help find BZ and he is alive and well.
  8. The background of that All New cover resembles the Speed cover by Schomburg. ...generic background? It is like they had a roll of "Convoy Tape".
  9. you never need an excuse to post books like that Thanks Honky! Perhaps BZ flew to San Diego for the Comic and Movie Con. I have heard that the flight attendants can get a little frisky these days. And with the Captain America, Thor and Avengers movie excitement, one can get lost in the crowd. We could, however, put out a reward for information or his capture.
  10. Perhaps BangZoom is traveling. I bet he's leisurely vacationing in Europe traveling by train. Around the world voyage maybe? A cruise can be a nice relaxing vacation but even that can get complicated. Picked these up recently and needed an excuse to post them. Zip was touched up a lot on the missing corners.
  11. I guess this is another Anderson cover. Like those Dragons and GGA. Planet Winter issue of 1949
  12. Need coverless copy of Marvel Mystery 36. Need a cover for Captain America 40 and All Winners 13. Need a cover for Captain America 13 (But I changed the scans below to add a little variety). I could also use the cover to Marvel Mystery 30 which had a similar theme and a cover for Marvel Mystery 24. Need covers for Hangman 2 and Jackpot 2, Top-Notch 11 and 12. Need a coverless copy of Pep 33. Need a cover for Pep 25. Need a coverless copy of Speed 35, All American 52, Punch 10 and Sensation 27. Add Daredevil 27 and Boy 30 to the need covers group and Dynamic 9 and Flash 42, 82 Firestone 1947, Batman 25 and 36 and Mystery in Space 2 to the need coverless copy group. I have two Blue Ribbon issues (13 and 17) that need a cover and one that needs a centerfold. Will trade a Batman 22 centerfold for a Batman 19 or 36 centerfold. I have a Batman 68 with no cover and the last ad page missing for trade and a coverless Batman 22 with the second page missing. I have an extra copy of Batman 40. Could use a Mystery Men 27 cover like the one below which isn't mine.

  14. I like the early Camilla who wore the funny hat.
  15. That's a good one. It has a snake bite story and the Yankee Boy vs the "Reefer King" story.
  16. sorry gary, BZ and I are working out a deal for me to purchase his entire comic collection at pennies on the $ , so he hasn't had time to post... about time you switched from your usual dollars on the penny philosophy. Picked this up recently cause of the Major's story. Seems like the family should still own DC comics based on the story in Wikipedia. Didn't know that the girl who played Mattie in Tombstone was related to the family.
  17. I used to but she would be a little old for you now!
  18. I need this, now! Which super man issue is that? That's a Sunday page from 1945. I have a third which has been trimmed from the Sunday funnies. I could use a tabloid version if anyone has one. It is probably reprinted in the Sunday Classics with the 1945 strips. I only have the volume which reprints from 1939-1943. That edition has the giant robot story but I alsohave the tabloid originals with that story. It is one of my favorites and I really like the Action 36 cover but the story is not in there. I don't think the Hitler story went very far but I have never seen the finish.
  19. I like the cover for 9 but 7 has some really good stories. And the Superman splash in issue 6 makes it worth the purchase price. I hope I get a chance to finish the early run. Stories with Superman and Batman should be good enough but throw in Sandman and Zatara and you got a pretty good deal for 15 cents.
  20. Bah! I was bidding on one of those too but didn't win.
  21. Sonny switched to a stamp after Christmas.
  22. I noticed that Jerry Weist has a lot of "Sonny" books for sale. Most of them have tape on the covers. I suppose the better comics ended up in the collection I purchased from Wally. The first two are owned by Jerry and the last two are in my collection.
