  1. I mentioned in another thread that a special origin thread would be nice to see. I also posted a Yankee cover which someone thought starred a strange character who deserved mention here. He is kind of a Frankenstein version of a hero make up of different parts from several World War I verterans. All had different religous and ethnic backgrounds but the pieces together made a superhero after innoculation with a little special serum. Kind of a nice idea which was ahead of it's time...but after Captain America. I also liked this Mr. Justice origin. And the Hangman. And the first and last appearance of Solomon Grundy. Any more?
  2. This one is kind of beat up but the Solomon Grundy story is complete.
  3. I like those Chesler covers. Barry Kuda is my new favorite hero.
  4. Precode crime from Fawcett isn't gory but looks like Baily art. And it has a birthday this month according to the date stamp. Happy 58th!!!
  5. I rarely see that one for sale. Perhaps it is the only one that collectors are looking for. I like em all.
  6. Love those Ace books. Got this cover recently but I think this is a scan that belongs to someone else. I sold a couple of Four Favorites but still have a few left.
  7. I like that western cover. Eastman had some strange superheroes and Buck Rogers. I like em both. I think the battling robots can be found in Buck Rogers 4. I picked up a coverless issue 3 last month and it is also a fun read.
  8. I got hooked on Ace covers back in the sixties. I think Mike Vosburg's Masquerader 5 contained a pretty good article. Great art and very creative stories. I like Harvey too. It is easier to buy these books than Timely or early Action. Ace is the place!
  9. I think there are 3 really good Authentic Police Cases covers by Baker and that is one of them. I only have two of the three but still looking for the railroad cover. I like the other APC Baker covers but not as much.
  10. nice! I like that cover but I always think of FC 263 when I see it. And now I also have Whiz 27.
  11. These were a little beat up and have been touched up a little but I like 'em. They are the first Mr. Mind cover, early Airboy with Black Angel, Schomburg Speed cover and Top-Notch with a Skull cover. The Top-Notch is missing a corner and a back cover but it fits in with the other coverless Top-Notch comics that I got from Flatrock. bb
  12. Like this? In no special order but I don't have either of the Giants which may make the list and the later Teen-age Romance are also not in my collection of scans. Here is a bunch more to pick from Someone posted a Crime Almanac scan on GAC or GAUK but it needed some work. It looks like pretty good Baker art on Phantom Lady once you clean it up. Not sure which issue it is.
  13. Very, very cool! Sold my copy to Terry's Comics. Had it since 1965 but there were a few panel missing I think.
  14. I like these a lot too. Got them from ebay but didn't have to bid very high.
  15. I like these Detective Comics with Roy Raymond and Pow-Wow Smith.
  16. love 'em roy. I like those early Whiz comics. I used to have an issue 9 but sold it to Terry. I kept the issue 8 but like the issue 9 cover better. I still don't have a cover for issue 11 but the issue 25 has a partial cover. And the 27 has a complete cover but there are a few tears. Like the Spy Smasher covers too.
  17. Cool book! I hope it isn't the only one that exists.
  18. I kind of like this cover. The Ducks had little race cars and Captain Marvel had a wind up set. I don't think these were big enough for AJ but I think Clark Gable raced them in a movie which has a title that I have forgotten. Corner was retouched a little too.
  19. And the Joker got a seat in Radio City due to some clever negotiations and a healthy donation to the Actors Guild.
  20. Congratulations! And if you ever crack the slab, the story inside is pretty good, too. I think Batman and Robin were in Times Square to see the Tonys broadcast.
  21. e.g. and he also liked All True Crime and Crime Detective.
  22. Red, We must be buying from the same bargain bin. I have a lot of those Arlin Ira Fegley (AIF) books. I heard that he was a collector in Jersey who died 10-15 years ago and the books were auctioned off with the rest of his estate. Do you know the real story? He liked crime comics a lot. Several of my Crime and Punishment issues have his signature. The interior of the books usually are white or off white. bb
  23. Thanks Doiby! Here are a couple of derby covers.
