  1. First appearance of Sparky in a story by Quinlan in Blue Beetle 15. Q drew the lead story but the origin was in a later story.
  2. I always wanted that Mighty Mouse but I like some of the other covers a little more.
  3. Wow - I'm jealous. I've been working on a National Comics run of Uncle Sam covers and you're right. Tough in grade. Congrats I like those early Sam covers.
  4. Origin of Satan from the Spirit of 76 story in Pocket 2
  5. The Introduction of Charlie McCarthy, is very dramatic. Jumbo 2
  6. Origin of the atomic bomb and the invention of fire. Wow, everything was covered in the comics. I haven't found a Darwin cover yet. Anyone?
  7. This is more of a definition than an origin.
  8. Origin of Madam Satan from Pep 16 and GA.UK
  9. Rudolph origin, he was kind of a superhero. His nose acted as a searchlight that could penetrate the deepest fog and....he could fly while pulling a sled filled with enough toys for all of the children in the world. Wow, that is super.
  10. First Tarzan and an advertisement for first issue of Tarzan in the four color format.
  11. Another first issue advertisement with a cover that was never used.
  12. Art for the YA 1 alternate cover was by King. Didn't he work for MLJ or was the company closed (AKA, Archified) by the time Young Allies was published?
  13. Advertisement for the First Young Allies issue which was changed before it was published because Stalin switched sides. And preceded to kick the stuffings out of the Wehrmacht.
  14. First Carl Barks issue. It is Not the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition.
  15. First Tygra and a Mr. Potato head cover. They should have used those guys in Toy Story.
  16. This might be the first appearance of the Dragon Lady in the comics. She makes a dramatic entrance anyway.
  17. Mickey Mouse versus the Nazis is kind of a crossover. The story appeared in WDCS but these are daily strips from a scrap book I found. bb
  18. Another Bruce had an origin story in Red Raven 1. This was probably the highlight of Red Raven if you ignore the Mercury art by Kirby. Human Top by Dic k Briefer.
  19. Wonder Woman origin was revised for the silver age.
  20. I am very fond of those three DC origin issues. I would like to have a better Batman 47 but still have two Superman 53 issues and the Wonder Woman issue was not too expensive. I think I got it from Lem at Golden Eagle. Thanks again Lem! bb
