  1. I thought this was resolved before and was in Superman 8. In addition, I thought it was the radio show that changed his abilities. I don't think they would have waited so long to change things when other flying heroes kept popping up and Superman had to out-Super everyone.
  2. I like the Wonderworld but happy to find some of those Blue Beetle comics too.
  3. This photo makes the thread. I don't know why he's so determined to chose between a Cap #1 and Marvel Comics #1, when he could just grab those Boy Commandos instead. Boy Commandos is more fun than Marvel 1 and it has Kirby art. Cap 1 would probably be the first he grabbed with the BC underneath.
  4. Marvel 1 would be nice to have. Cap 1 is important but not as much as the first Marvel Comic.
  5. I don't think that is a Xela cover. It still looks like work by Norris or someone...
  6. Abner was very popular when I was young. Both the musical and the movie were hits. I usually read the comics but read the newspaper strip when I could find it. bb
  7. Thanks again! So funny that you mention that, because this was my "place holder" copy until I picked up my new one. Now I guess I can sell this one I was looking for a coverless copy without a centerfold (bargain basement) and missed the two I saw pre-auction.
  8. Love it congrats, hugely underrated IMHO. and that issue has the giant robot story which is featured on the cover of Fantastic 3.
  9. I could argue that the Atom was the first "atomic" hero but I get your point.
  10. Those are great. I wonder if there are anymore early football strips by King.
  11. Love that stuff RM. Especially that one above. I have this production film for a gift subscription from the printer's files. Do you happen to have the matching printed version? I'd love to see it. I didn't look for the ad but I recognized the cover as Scrooge 40. I don't think that is a Gold Key reprint of an earlier issue. I think I got this one from Beerbohm.
  12. I have 3 or 4 of those Story Hour books which were used as premiums.
  13. Christmas and Halloween trump football but the group managed to get in a little football game. Unfair letting the Flash kick. He can always catch the ball before anyone else.
  14. Robotman, do you recognize the Sheriff's badge? I am not sure about the origin. I thought it was from a Lone Ranger premium but I don't see any ID.
  15. Found the pic and noticed the ROA star badge is the match for the manual.
  16. I prefer the early Batman and Robin stories in Detective but the Shuster art was pretty good in the pre-Batman issues.
  17. Ditto, I received this one too I like all 3 of those Batman Christmas issues but it is the Burnley cover on Bat 27 that seems to get most of the attention.
  18. I have an Annie decoder book too but no pic.
  19. and I had to get a Secret Squadron Manual to go with the Captain Midnight badge.
  20. I found an ad for this one in Popular comics.
  21. I think I answered this question before on a different thread. But just in case, I got this photo from Silver Streak 10.
