  1. Robot Man those rings are out of this world!!! So cool! Would love to see pics of the glowing ones in the dark, but I don't know if your camera is that sensitive... You can send me all of your rings and I will take a picture with the digital camera we have in the lab. I used a 30 sec exposure to photograph fluorescent bacteria.
  2. Apparently the Captain Midnight Mystic Sun-God Ring was also a Mystic Aztec Ring. It's beat up but you can still see the design on the side.
  3. That reminds me of this Rage cover which is on one of the issues that had art by Baker inside.
  4. Howie Post signed the cover. I thought he did most of the Farmer's Daughter stories.
  5. and this photo was from Toy Tent. I almost purchased one of the space ships at the flea market but while I was waiting for the owner to walk over and give me the price, another collector scooped it up and purchased...
  6. I lifted this photo from someone's website.
  7. I saw this ad in my copy of the Daisy handbook.
  8. Witches 9 is some purty good readin'... and Witches Tales 15 reminds me of Jo-Jo 8.
  9. I like that one but mine is signed by Joyce. Her collection was smaller than Paul's.
  10. I added a few more Harvey Comics to the pile. Still some of the best color work and Powell art. Thanks Ben!
  11. Green Turtle was replaced in Blazing by random remainder comics.
  12. Shock Gibson lost the funny helmet but was pushed off the cover of Speed by Captain Freedom anyway.
  13. Somebody posted the original art on the boards or was it ebay?
  14. I think I actually knew that at one time and was definitely having a moment. With help from our friends at GCD, these are non-Barks covers 9 29 62 108 147 158 178 Interestingly, 178 was by Dan Gormley rather than Buettner. I'm not otherwise familiar with Gormley, although I like the 178 cover. In my view, Buettner was actually a good artist who ended up being overshadowed by Barks among duck fans. I think Gormley drew Andy Panda and Howdy Doody covers as well. He did this drawings for a coloring book, I think. I have an early Centaur, The Arrow, with stories he drew.
  15. Congrats! Such a fun run to collect. I've accumulated 40 of the first 50 in a pedestrian way, but it has been enjoyable You never brought your Duck collection to the picnic. How come? My collection starts with WDCS 10 but the early group is a little ragged. We should have had a funny animal day with no barbarians or superheroes allowed.
  16. Houston conventions (late 70s and early 80s) were very similar to the Philly conventions that I have gone too. NYC conventions are a little different cause the crowds are bigger and sellers are crammed together and ...well it is NYC.
  17. Welcome to the club! That is probably my favorite Bugs book. "Pauls" are like crack! I like his other ventures too.
  18. I would put Palais in that mix. He did a lot more work than most of those guys. Probably should include Powell too.
  19. Harvey horror comics featured a variety of poems. Thanks to Comics Plus.
  20. Funny cartoon. Have Marge's Little Lulu cartoons ever been collected together in a single volume? I'd buy that book. I have multiple volumes of the collected work, but haven't seen a single volume of them all I only have one Lulu hardback but a bunch of comics. Stanley is in the picture below.
  21. I do like those giant Eisner pages. Several were on display at the Jewish museum of art in NYC.
  22. Someone just put one of those Dell racks up on ebay, albeit in much worse shape than yours and probably at a much higher price ($1,200), but I'm sure it will sell. And before my mention of eBay sets off the usual whines complaining about the site, I want to say that there are still incredible deals and finds to be made on eBay. I just picked up this rack on eBay ... for cheap: Wow! Awesome rack! I've never seen one like that. Very easy to date. I actually prefer the folding racks like that. They take up a lot less room if not in use. Funny thing, my Dell rack is complete as pictured. But, about a year later, I found another one of the blue panels with wording on it at an antique show all by it's self. I bought it and put it at the bottom so now mine has 3 blue panels. I recently picked up a cool 1950's Little Golden Book wire hanging rack. Only one I've ever seen. I will try and shoot a photo and post it later. Little Golden Books .....post 'em if ya got 'em I just got back from the Williamsburg Film Festival that has a focus on old vintage movies with a focus on westerns. My comic dealer buddy there has a friend / partner who usually brings LGB's but didn't this year. He'll usually have real nice first print examples. GOD BLESS...-jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u I don't have a lot of little Golden books but I do have this Top Top Tales by Barks.
