  1. Nice Spideys, Count! That #24 looks like it's one smallish corner crease from being an 8.0
  2. Thanks, asr! Yeah, the Action 61 is pretty nice... colors are really bright, better in person than the scans suggest
  3. wise words. thanks guys! I agree, the 61 is the pick of the litter... but I've always had a soft spot for the Supes 45 cover too
  4. Does anyone still post comic scans in this thread? ... Well, I don't care - here are three lower grade gems I just picked up
  5. Nice Barks Four Colors, Blue808 - and a couple of great spideys, Count - especially the 62 w/white pages! Here are a few golden age nuggets I picked up recently...
  6. Good to know the Barks books are popular in these parts! At the show I also got WDC&S #s 269, 289 and 291 - giving me a run of issues 88 through 298 in VG or better Still have quite a few to go between 31 and 87, tho *That FC 159 gives me a 'run' of all the Barks Four Colors except the first four and 189 in VG or better... of course, now the really expensive quests begin...!
  7. Thanks, Billy! The utterly triangular head on Namor on the cover of #77 didn't help that issue's chances..?? It's positively Dhali-esque!
  8. Thanks pal - now do me a solid and go give these some grades in the PGM threads... !
  9. Agreed, Ciorac - and the colors on that particular specimen are really incredible! Here are a few GA pick-ups from WonderCon...
  10. Geez, 1970 - kind of a tough act to follow! Here's one I snagged at WonderCon yesterday... a #77 was available in the same grade for the same price, but I think I made the better choice given the solo Cap story in this one
  11. And finally three GA hero tomes... (These three are up for critical review in the Grading forum.)
  12. Here are a few pickups from WonderCon yesterday... first the funny animal / humor stuff
  13. Gorgeous cover, Atlas! What issue of Sea Devils is that, 1 or 2? Those Heath 'painterly' covers are cool
  14. Gotta say - this thread truly illustrates the value of these boards. I haven't been frequenting the boards lately, but with WonderCon looming I thought I'd "bone up" on the latest in scams, conspiracy theories (or just plain conspiracies ) and resto cons... And I'm really glad I did. Kudos
  15. A few recent acquisitions, as usual I'm all over the map in terms of genres and ages...
  16. Thanks, guys! trmoore, I pegged the FF 9 as a VG+ but it might be a bit better than that... the colors are really nice and if not for a 3/4-inch tear along the right side of the cover I think it would net a FN at least... Garth
  17. And a couple of GA pickups for the 'old school' set:
  18. Here are a few of my San Diego con acquisitions....
  19. I'd go so far as to say the Hulk on the cover is definitely Kirby with Everett inking...but the Hercules looks more like Vince Colletta inking...
  20. SS, that is one sweet book... what a great cover!! **BTW, am I nuts or is the latest OS Guide completely wrong about this comic? It says Amazing Mysteries 35 has a "crime theme" and sports a photo cover?
