  1. Gorgeous pickup, Surfer...love those TTAs... I need #s 46, 91 and 93 to have 40-101... Here are two Spideys I picked up on eBay at about half of guide...and lo and behold, they're actually in about VF/VF+ as described!
  2. It's hard to follow the previous acts, but I'll go ahead and post my latest FC acquisition - this one purchased from A-1 Comics at Wondercon a couple of weeks ago... It's my oldest FC among the Barks duck books, and one that's not reprinted often (at all?)... very strange and silly story, even for Barks!
  3. Showcase, that FC 74 is very nice - love that cover and as a big Lulu fan I'm jealous! Montezuma, I humbly bow before your awesome assemblage of Four Colors... I have maybe 100 or so FCs, including all but four of the Barks duck books (the earliest four, natch ) ...and have occasionally dreamed of trying to assemble an entire run of the second series... glad to know it is possible - you've given me inspiration (to go rob a bank ) !!
  4. Love that Showcase 73....!!! Agreed, all the early Creeper appearances are unusually common - though not in this grade of course!
  5. Agreed. How's the Spider-man story? Thanks, guys I recall the spidey story being pretty great... haven't re-read it yet in the book pictured, but read it as a kid...it's the fourth overall appearance of Spidey, and the first drawn by Kirby I believe...? It's a classic, that's about all I remember specifically except the intro... Johnny's showing off a new car, Spidey/Peter's jealous and messes up the car, first fight ensues...(this is from 25-year old recall)..?
  6. This one puts me 1 issue from completing a mostly high grade run of one of my favorite "silly" Marvel titles... (only # 13 to go!)
  7. A few more pickups from WonderCon... Was pleasantly surprised to pick this one up for about 60% of guide...
  8. What a cover! That closer dinosaur looks positively rabid - or he's been gargling with blood again That's some classic stuff...
  9. That's beeyootiful... there's a hint of early Wolverton about it...especially the monster and terrain...
  10. That is gorgeous, Jeff! Here are a few of my WonderCon purchases... Police #30
  11. Sullypython: Whoa - that is beeeyootiful... the corners are so sharp it hurts to look at 'em
  12. Last one for now... couldn't resist this cover!
  13. Got DD 2 back in 1975 in VF/NM for $6... the somewhat lower grade copy show here was 50x more at the 'con...
  14. The purple cover looks even better in person...
  15. A few more show pickups... Four Color 108...only three more to go among the 25 Barks FC books (of course, they're the three most expensive...)
  16. Or the best example yet of how hard it can be to discern some defects through the CGC slab... From the scan, and assuming the back cover was similar in terms of wear/condition, I'd have said this was an 8.0 or so... scary!
  17. Great Caesar's Ghost, mattbird - that's a glorious book! What's the grade on the label, if I may ask? Hard to find that cover in such pristine shape!!
  18. Thanks for the kudos, Deathlok I couldn't believe that Tales Calculated to Drive you Bats #1 was available for well under guide... it's very clean and tight, and ya just don't see these books in close-to-unread condition very often...!
