  1. So came across these in a recent collection of old store stock; it's a shame as Deadpool: The Circle Chase #1 still commands a nice price in 9.8 even in Direct. Maybe this damage could press right out? The pages were so brittle they just tore immediately. Thankfully no newsies. Off to the bin they went. For your viewing disgust/sadness... But then I came across a random Disney book of Little Mermaid's Sebastian: And the height of the mold on the inside back cover could probably be measured on the mm scale, especially that central line. In the garbage immediately. Anyone else have any mold horror stories?
  2. Have been a long time Ebay seller as well; 98% of the time sales go smoothly. Have sold over a hundred slabs and have been fortunate so far. The biggest scam sellers have to face is when a buyer receives your item, they can claim you sent them either: a) an empty box, or b) something entirely different from what was in the listing. So they open a Not As Described return case and demand a full refund. They can't return your item anyway, because after all, you didn't send it according to them Or they'll send you back junk in a box. If you refuse the return, they cry to Ebay and they force the refund anyway. So now the buyer gets their money back AND they steal your item. And it doesn't matter what evidence you have in your favor, Ebay's not gonna care. It's bad enough when it happens over an item under $100, but I've heard horror stories of high-priced item thefts, where the only option a seller has is to get the local police involved and hope that spooks the scammer into sending the item back/dropping the scam. It's one of the most infuriating problems out there, because you know you've gotten screwed, and Ebay will just be like 'meh'. They made a decision a long time ago to kiss the buyer's behinds. It's actually safer to sell via Ebay's International Program now, because the rules are different and have extra protections for sellers. Buyers won't be able to get away with the same scam, because if a buyer wants to return an item for whatever reason, and you have No Returns on your listing, the buyer has it returned to an Ebay hub, where Ebay refunds them out of their own pocket (so Ebay eats the cost, up to $2500 I believe), and then Ebay will liquidate/sell off the item in some manner. You as a seller get to keep the proceeds of the sale. Selling on these boards is sounding more desirable. If there's ever an issue between buyer and seller, CGC isn't going to play Referee like Ebay does.
  3. Hi, I have a few copies of Wizard Magazine #17; the date of the mag is January 1993, but the date on the binding is December 1992. Was that an error that came with most, if not all, copies of this issue?
  4. Hi, some friendly advice on Mark Jewelers submissions; on the packing slip, write "Mark Jewelers" next to each comic that has the insert. Also, write "Mark Jewelers" on some painters tape and place that on the sleeve of the comic as well. We've had a few submissions we had to send back as MEs as the Mark Jewelers designation was missed on the label, but since we've been doing the above, we haven't had any issues.
  5. I have a mechanical error return (shipping damage) order I'm trying to put in today (3/11/23) and it won't go through; same error. Doesn't matter what modifications I make to the inbound shipping address (removing periods, not abbreviating, dashes in the phone #, etc), it doesn't work. And it just gives this nebulous "There was an issue with your Inbound Shipping information"; nothing specific. I received this shipment on 3/3/23, so to get this entered within your 14-day window, I only have a few days left to get the order through on the system. Sounds like CGC has had this issue on and off for quite some time, given the board messages.
  6. Hi all, Just got these back recently; not key issues, but haven't seen another example of a 6-cover book in recent memory. Nice to have a McFarlane cover for one of these. I heard about an ASM 361 from a few years back per some Youtubers, but that's it. Any feedback from the community on how often these are seen in the field? Not sure why the Superman book got a 6.0 when the best cover was a 9.0. I'm guessing it had to do with some other whole book defect (grader's notes mention "staple removed bottom staple").
  7. Hi, been looking around the boards for a while and can't seem to find a clear answer. As of today 8/29/21 the TRT for Modern Comics is 103 days for grading and 180 days for pressing. Assuming I sent in a comic for both services, my question is, are those times additive (103+180=283 days) or is the grading time a subset of pressing time (ie. the max TRT would be 180 days)? Thanks in advance!
