  1. You should have received an award for your X-Men (1991) Signature Set because it is obviously very well deserving.
  2. Below are images of the back cover spine and bottom of one of the two modern magazines I'll be receiving on Monday, July 27, 2023. The back cover of the other copy does not show the damage and debris. Thus, it does not appear to be an issue with the scanner that was used (unless two different ones were used). Hopefully as with one of the comic books I received on July 17, CGC corrected this problem prior to shipping the magazines to me.
  3. As I wrote for another comic book with the same issue, perhaps this comic book visited Canada.
  4. Two magazine modern submission: Grading/Quality Control, Thursday, July 20, 2023 Magazines shipped July 21.
  5. Two magazine modern submission: Grading/Quality Control, Thursday, July 20, 2023
  6. Apparently, someone at CGC wanted to be absolutely certain.
  7. I'll try to find a copy after I finish "Watch Grass Grow."
  8. I ordered once from MC perhaps seven or eight years ago. The order was for about 30 comic books and, unfortunately, they were packaged so badly that most, roughly 25 of them, had badly blunted corners suffered during shipment. MC had me take photographs of each one prior to returning them, which I did. MC refunded me upon receiving them. I have not, nor will I, purchase from MC again. I'll note that I recall a post from years ago in which a board member noted that when they placed a large order from MC the comic books were well packaged; apparently my order was not large enough for such packaging; but small orders were poorly packaged. Perhaps my experience is uncommon, but one such shipment is enough for me.
  9. Unfortunately, the northern NJ and NYC, etc., newsstands and comic book stores of my childhood and young adult days are long gone. The "almost corner store" where I purchased literal tons of new Silver and Bronze and back issue Gold Ages comic books and magazines closed very long ago. When I'm in the area visiting family if one of my cousins and I pass by the former locale of one of the vanished places we always mention "so and so was located there."
  10. My two magazine modern submission is stuck in G/E/I. The submission has been in that status for several weeks.
  11. Good to learn that magazines are being shipped. Of course, scans of the encapsulated magazines would assist the submitter to see the condition of the slab, etc., they will receive.
  12. To be somewhat morose: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."
  13. SDCC imploded when MHC ceased to attend. Of course, wholly unrelated to SDCC, MHS said that due to never ending natural disasters comic books are being lost at, basically, levels never imagined and, thus, prices will increase. Accordingly, MHC is now charging $2500 for a FN/6.0 copy of Worthless Comic #1. One is, I will write, perhaps not fortunate to have such deal on said comic book at 60% off. Perhaps MHC will provide proof of the loss of such vast quantities of comic books to natural disasters.
  14. Yes, FedEx is, to repeat, I'll write, 97.5% dreadful in my area. My next CGC package may be delivered ten blocks from my home. I may have to switch my delivery address, as some other board members have done, to, I believe, my local Walgreens. Of course, FedEx may just deliver it to another Walgreens in my town or two towns away.
  15. I quickly reviewed the comic books yesterday, July 17, and the one with the white piece of paper on the back cover was, I assume, re-slabbed (if you would) as the object is not there. I'll more carefully review the comic books and slabs later. I will note that FedEx delivered the box to the house next door. My family and I barely know these folks as they very recently purchased the home. The FedEx driver apparently signed for the box, leaving it on the front porch of the house, because I was informed upon collecting the box, the neighbors alerted me when I arrived home, that no one by the name that was signed resides there. FedEx in my area, except for one driver, is dreadful in the extreme. Clearly the driver that delivered the box did not care in the slightest about the box/delivery, etc.
  16. My goal is a 0.0. Perhaps it can be achieved by combining the invisible Bad Idea "comic book" with invisible all-cover color touch.
  17. Yes. Although my business is not remotely comic book related, when the number of contracts is about to increase I always inform the (Edit) prospective customer that I will hire contractors to perform the legwork and I will conduct the data analysis, write the report, etc. I also always direct my attorney to include the requisite language in the contracts. If a prospective customer does not agree to such, I decline the contract. Edit 2: I did not expand during the COVID-19 Pandemic but did start to conduct, which I continue to this day, primarily (about 95%) remote research because, simply, I had previously traveled virtually non-stop to extremely remote locations that were, as one can imagine, very difficult to reach and for typically very long periods for the past almost 35 years. I also now accept fewer contracts as I became very selective in late 2020. If the research is not, in my informed opinion, worthwhile, I decline the contract.
