  1. One piece at a time. Before one realizes it, they have ... ... ... two pieces.
  2. I received one "fake" message and it told me in so many words to "ef bugger off."
  3. As others noted, it could be worse and have been covered in _______________ (please fill-in the blank). Joking aside, I have never received such but if I ever do I will not, I'll write, appreciate it.
  4. Disney and Marvel Comics/Entertainment, or whatever it is called, are a match made in .... (Warner Bros.?)
  5. It may turn out to mean for the buyers "I promised you nothing, absolutely nothing!"
  6. When I went to place a track on the one that sold yesterday I, of course, saw the Covid-19 Period sale since I had not placed a track on that one and hoped that the person that won it is a collector and not a flipper because unless they sold it right after the sale (I'll fantasize for a profit) that is likely a financial loss. Granted, perhaps that amount of money for that individual is a pittance.
  7. I was tracking the HOM 194 on HA. Although one example and perhaps an extreme one of dropping prices, the result was expected. The copy that sold in April 2022, despite having white pages, appears to have sold at, arguably, a "Covid-19 Period" price (to, likely, state the very obvious). Edit: I failed to note that the April 2022 sale is an Oregon Coast Collection copy. I am presently unfamiliar with that collection. House of Mystery #194 (DC, 1971) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages.... Sold on Mar 28, 2023 for: $264.00 includes Buyer's Premium (BP) Lot 15404 NM+ 9.6 Auction 122216 Monday, April 18, 2022 $1,560.00
  8. Indeed. If I had not purchased many of the comic books (e.g., major and minor keys) I did during that period I would have been unwilling to do so since, at least, the "Covid-19 Era" because I would not have wanted to sink so much of my comic book money into them. Granted, many would have (and may) increased in value but since I'm a collector who may (may) sell his collection someday, if I don't pass it on to my daughter to enjoy and perhaps profit from, I would have enjoyed doing other things with that money (like adding more, as if I needed to, to my N, HO, and O scales model train layouts and collection and military, ship, plane, automobile, science fiction, etc., plastic model kits assembly and collection). Clearly, I have far, far too many hobbies.
  9. I wonder if it ever was. Great on the MJI.
  10. I would have paid more for the 9.0. Of course, I would never have purchased such a comic book because its not in my "wheelhouse." I love writing and saying "wheelhouse."
  11. Based on my experience over many years, all "credible professional comic book grading" company's grades "all over the place." Of course, one could argue what is/constitutes a "credible professional comic book grading" company as well as "all over the place." However, in my view, CGC should have done and be doing incredibly much much much ... better than what it has done and is doing. Unfortunately, I don't see it improving, likely getting worse, but I will enjoy being incorrect.
  12. I want to him to submit another copy, receive a 3.5 with off-white pages.
  13. As many have noted on the boards over the years, if a copy of a, let us say, CGC graded Bronze Age comic book sells for $$$$ at auction often enough (at least for me that I have been wiling to wait for many years) the copy that may come to market after that one may sell for $$$ or $$. Granted, sometimes they sell for $$$$$ and, of course, the "Covid-19 Era" obliterated such decreases in many (perhaps most) instances.
  14. Based on your thread's title, I imagined you owned a CGC graded 18.18 issue of Wonder Woman.
  15. The few comic books, approximately five (without checking), that I have bid on in the last year, give or take, have sold for much more than I was willing to pay. Up to three years ago I likely typically bid on or purchased five comic books in ten minutes and would win a great many of those I bid on, most at very good prices. Those days appear to be gone.
  16. At MHS that would be only one comic book. For example, Revival 1 in Fine-.
  17. So, MHS is having a sale. Edit: I should clarify, the "S" is for Stoned.
  18. I have seen slabs like that when I go grocery shopping. I fill them with vegetables and fruit. But seriously ...
  19. I'm not certain if I posted this one previously. Oh well.
  20. Or "I can't here you." "I thought I did it." "I forgot."
