  1. In a future podcast from Felix, Sarah Duke will confirm that the current owner of the Incredible Hulk # 181 cover is NOT the Estates of: Stan Lee, Steve Ditko or Marie Severin. Let the speculation continue .....
  2. Blastaar Go with your gut instinct. Thankfully, everyone has different tastes in art. As the saying goes, buy what you like and what you can afford. After all, it is your $. All the best. Slightly Off-Topic Jason Fabok, another former Finch assistant / protege started off slow before getting steady work at DC and now has his own fan following. Perhaps the same will apply to Johnny D in the future. OT Finch started off as an assistant / protege to Silvestri.
  3. Heritage probably pulled it because they forgot to scan the Dali painting on the back. It was surreal.
  4. Do you already own some of his art? Johnny D has been around for years. He was a Finch assistant / protege which is why the style is similar down to the square cross hatching. I remember seeing his Vampirella and Green Hornet art on Spencer's website several years ago. Pencils only if I recall correctly.
  5. Not every CGC OA board member listens to every single podcast by Felix. I'm sure not every podcast listener reads every CGC OA thread.
  6. Now that you mention it, I haven't noticed a coupon since November. I'm not on eBay daily so maybe I missed it?
  7. Let's hope it's the original and not another print. It will be interesting to hear what PayPal's official excuse .... um err um response is if the original is returned.
  8. Stuff from the 90's are either at the 25 year mark or close to it. That's when junk mysteriously turns to collectible.
  9. From my personal experience, I would never trust him. He once offered to trade me a $50 item for my OA worth several thousand dollars. Nice try Shyster.
  10. Now, if only the cover to the Incredible Hulk 181 would surface ......
  11. I agree but sometimes you need to liven up the boards. Let the speculation continue.
  12. Let the speculation begin ..... Stan Lee, Steve Ditko and Marie Severin have all been removed from the donor list by Sarah Duke, the curator. As someone else suggested, perhaps a proxy. Stan was a showman. If he owned it, he would have displayed it long ago. So none of his proxies. Ditko had abandoned his rights to the art and essentially gifted everything to Marie Severin. So none of his proxies. The general consensus among collectors was Marie Severin being the donor. Marie never married, nor did she have any children. Perhaps a niece, nephew or family attorney. Otherwise, from a pure speculative guess ...... What If ...... the same person in possession of the complete ASM # 1 art also managed to get a hold of the AF # 15 art? What if that individual made the anonymous donation? Somebody please ask the individual or Sarah Duke. Lol. Again, pure speculation on my part. Sorry about font issues.
  13. If eBay doesn't work out, you can always set up at Zaddick's show in NYC or Chuck's show in LA. Or both.
  14. I would love to see any additional footage of that room in slow motion of all the art and toys. Thanks for posting. Cheers! N.
  15. Mignola's appearance coincides with the scheduled release of the new Hellboy movie in April 2019. Amazingly enough, Hellboy celebrates it's 25th Anniversary this year.
  16. Original Art Fans, Save the Date. NYC Comic Art Expo: Sunday April 28th at Hotel Pennsylvania on west 33rd Street / 7th Avenue. Mike Mignola, creator of Hellboy, is the scheduled guest at the show. If you are a fan, this is a rare opportunity to see Mike in a more intimate setting as compared to the larger super conventions like SDCC or NYCC. This show is focused on original comic artwork. Other artists are expected to be announced soon by the promoters. I will post more details as I find out more. Nick Katradis and Animated Ink, (that's me ), will be setting up jointly at the show. We will have original art from all time periods and at different price points. Nick and I are private collectors. Last year was our first foray into setting up at a show. The 1 day show was a blast. We had a great time meeting other original art collectors at the show. If you couldn't make it last year, make sure you don't miss out this year. The show is located across the street from Madison Square Garden / Penn Station. Hotel Pennsylvania Gold Ballroom 33rd Street / 7th Avenue Show hours are 10:00am - 5:00pm. $20 admission fee.
  17. If you are a Mignola fan, the choice is obvious.
  18. Lambo deserves his own spin-off podcast. Happy 2019 everyone ! Cheers! N.
  19. I offered the entire issue and cover to Punisher War Zone #5 drawn by JRJR and Janson in the CGC OA marketplace a few years ago. I sold off pages to a few boardies. They flipped them a few months later. A well known artist also bought several pages from me. I sold the cover via CAF. I kept the DPS and 1 other page for my private collection. You snooze, you lose. Cheers! Nelson Animated Ink
  20. The OA Cabal will only let you see what they want you to see !!!
  21. You can always buy the Trade PaperBack and look at the art. I'm still having trouble finding the time to see all the exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, let alone the art they have stashed away.
  22. The articles seem to indicate that Erik can remember what the guy looks like. If that's the case, perhaps Erik can do a sketch of the alleged perpetrator and see if anyone recognizes him. I hope the art gets recovered. N.
