  1. I'm not an autograph guy but I have seen Rob's lines. I don't believe he ever asks fans what they plan on doing with his autograph. Like most creators, if you pay him, he'll sign. Is he taking advantage of Deadpool being "hot". Sure. Go to any Wizard show. How many "D list celebs" wished they charged more for autographs when they were hot? You have to make the $ while you can. Even if you received a free autograph, the perceived value is greater than $0. Otherwise, why would you have him sign and "devalue' a mint condition comic that you clearly cherish?
  2. The comic is raw when you ask and pay Rob for his autograph. It's your problem if you submit a low grade comic for him to autograph. As a creator, his autograph presumably has a perceived value, otherwise people would not ask him to sign, let alone pay for an autograph. It's up to you to decide if you can profit off the flip. If not, don't line up and ask for an autograph. Flip the book without his signature.
  3. Doesn't every grading company charge based on market value? Rob and other artists are just following the marketplace. If you think it's too much, don't line up. Why should everyone else profit off his autograph?
  4. Nice job with the framing. Reasonable price for what looks to be a quality job. In NYC, it would cost many times more.
  5. I just received my green backpack. The quality of the stitching is poor and no hint of any "stiffening rod". Looks like I got stiffed. Lol. At $16, I will probably keep it but will reinforce the stitching around the shoulder straps. I may need it when riding on my e-scooter. Lol. Yes, the straps suck. I would not overload it either. Glen's might be better but these backpacks all have negative reviews about the stitching and zippers. Stick with the traditional shoulder strap portfolio cases.
  6. I've heard nothing but great things about the show over the last 10 years. I hope to make it out there one day. Have a great show everyone.
  7. I'm surprised Jim's "backpack" isn't polybagged as he is clearly trying to sell these as limited edition collectibles. While it may work for Jim's needs, the other options listed are probably more suitable for collectors as Jim doesn't use mylars or itoyas to protect the art. I have also used most of the lightweight portfolio cases, (canvas and vinyl versions), with the shoulder straps. I've also used a heavier oversized "aluminum" briefcase designed to hold Mac Laptops. The quality isn't the best but it is well designed. It can hold 2 itoya 13 x 19 portfolios secured with Velcro straps inside. I've carried it onto airplanes and it fits in the overhead bins. The case has been discontinued. I believe the backpack case that Gene and Will recommended and reviewed in another thread are basically the same as the one Glen ordered. Amazon tends to sell the same item by different sellers under various brand names. I just ordered a green one that appears to be re-inforced with a "stiffening rod". Lol. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R3DNK9X
  8. I believe the 4 Day Badges were sold out on May 5 for those that were pre-registered. The second sale date is June 12, (tomorrow). I believe an additional allotment of individual tickets for Saturday and Sunday were set aside for this date. As such, if you were shut out on May 5, you might still be able to get weekend tickets when the system opens up on Wednesday. Good luck to everyone.
  9. Yes, it looks like $8000, which would be still be reasonable for the size, detail, and quality of the cover. In Euros, it may look even cheaper.
  10. You can use clear plastic "underbed" bins that they sell at stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Target, or Bed Bath & Beyond. Check the measurements but I found a few brands that fit my 13 x 19 itoya portfolios. They should keep your art dry and any insects, pests or vermin out. As long as you do not overfill them, you can stack a few of them. I place them on steel shelves from Home Depot. The shelves are on wheels which will make your life easier. The bins are usually tapered so make sure you measure the bottom dimensions accurately. Good luck. Cheers! N.
  11. Anyone else who attended have any thoughts on the show?
  12. McFarlane, Van Sciver are examples of artists that hand drew their art using blue pencil. Using blue pencils does not seem to impact the valuation of their art. While harder to erase, blue pencil can be removed if you want.
  13. Mad Love story featuring Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn written by Paul Dini and drawn by Bruce Timm.
  14. I hope to see you and your wife at another show soon Jay. Larry Stroman has been killing it with his commissions at the show. Quick Saturday report: Lines for Perez are still crazy. The fans somehow remain energized and excited throughout nonetheless. Tons of fans from NYC made the trek via public transportation just to see Perez. A few people were upset to learn that Denny O'Neill was only at the show Friday and missed out on getting his signature. This show has been great for anyone looking for raw books, $1 or $2 reading copies, and TPBs. There are plenty of deals to be made if you are willing to look through the bins. I will not be there Sunday so have fun everyone.
  15. Jay I met you and your wife at my friend Nick's booth when you picked up the Kraven page from Creatures on the Loose issue. I had the orange vest on. I mentioned to Nick, I know him from somewhere. Great to meet you in person. Lol. It is a great show. I'm stopping by again on Saturday. See everyone soon. Cheers! N.
  16. Friday report: 1) the "CGC Services" booths were vacant but the generic sign with their name was there. 2) the place was absolutely packed all day as the fans and lines for George Perez were non- stop and insane. He blew away my expectations. When his hand was tired for signing, he took a "break" by appearing on a panel so fans got Perez non-stop. He will sign everything in exchange for a donation to Heroes Initiative. People with VIP tickets still waited about 2 hours to get to George. No sketches whatsoever. Don't bother asking. His list opened up 2 months ago for 15 slots only. That booked up in 5 minutes. He did the head sketches and marker in advance. People picked them up at the show. Healthy lines for Starlin, Lim, Sinnott, O'Neill. 3) a lot of wheeling and dealing for comics and art at the start of the show that probably initiated in the parking lot. Lol. I met up with lots of collectors and it's only day 1. Cheers! N.
  17. Scooby Doo, where are you? If it is a CGC facilitator and not CGC itself, hopefully they got permission to promote themselves as "CGC Services".
  18. East Coast's updated exhibitor list shows CGC Services at the booths I listed. https://www.eastcoastcomicon.com/exhibitors/
  19. Read the threads or go visit the website. CGC WILL BE AT THE SHOW. THEY ARE AT BOOTHS 533 AND 535.
  20. A few Exhibitors badges usually pop up but they won't be cheap.
  21. Thanks for taking and sharing the pics Jeff. Sharp and definitely hi- res. I may need to upgrade my phone. Cheers! N.
  22. If you are from the NYC area and want to get in during the late afternoon or early evening, I suggest you wait by the exit and ask people if they are done with their badges for the day. That's what ticket scalpers do. Most people will give the badge away or charge $5. Cheers! N.
  23. Mark will be at the East Coast Comic Con in NJ next week. Cheers! N.
