  1. These smaller shows allow for private collectors to set up at the show, (including me, Nelson Animated Ink). At this time, I only set up at NY since I am local and it's convenient. Where do you think dealers get new inventory from? These focused shows allow you to shop and browse in a more relaxed atmosphere and not deal with the crowds and NYCC's frustrating ticket buying policy. With that said, I enjoy going to all shows for different reasons. At NYCC, I have other interests than just art.
  2. As I mentioned earlier, I think the later issues, (#3, #4), have more action than the early issues as issues #1 and #2 are more about building up the storyline. I suspect the original purchaser of issue #1 ended up buying issue #4 and then consigning issue # 1 back to Felix for resale. If I am correct, it ended up as a win-win for everyone.
  3. Thanks for the heads up about the show and the pics Brandon. The blood stained mattress was to show Quesada's starving artist phase before he got his opportunity with Valiant Comics.
  4. Will Cool lines be there offering their Mark Bagley recreation for sale as the published original?
  5. Thank you everyone for the "likes" and nice comments. I get more email inquiries and low-ball offers on my ASM 361 than anything else in my collection so I needed to add some commentary to reduce the spam. Lol.
  6. Anyone with a limited budget to buy art is going to keep a close eye on early results. If they are interested in multiple items, they would rather get blown out early of their max bid for certain items, regroup, then reallocate their resources on other items up for auction they might be interested in. If I get blown out of my max bid on the Adams cover early, I might redirect my attention to a Kirby cover and a few Sal Buscemas.
  7. From the thread title, I thought we were talking about Adam Hughes. I actually think I know the original owner of the art. He is a friend from high school. A few friends were hanging out at his parents' place watching MTV, of course. When the aforementioned video came on, my friend mentioned he had the art. I don't remember what his parents' occupations were but apparently, someone gifted them the art. They in turn gave it to my friend. MTV and music videos were at the peak of their popularity at the time. My friend eventually moved to LA, got married, etc., so no surprise that the art ended up out there. I run into him every so often when he is in town but am certainly not buddy buddy with him anymore. However, I will bring it up next time I see him. I wasn't interested in the art back then and certainly not interested in the art now.
  8. If I was able to buy art from one of my top 5 artists and nostalgic sweet spot on the cheap, I would hope he stays under the radar.
  9. Once the Neal Adams Batman 251 cover was announced, it basically, sucked the life out of all other consignments including the Kirby Captain America 103.
  10. So where are all the Sal Buscema fans? Barely any action on the Captain America 154 cover or Subby 27 cover. I thought he was supposed to be a Mt. Rushmore artist.
  11. Ungraded and raw for your viewing pleasure. One of my favorites in my personal collection. My ASM 361
  12. Sounds like a great time for all despite the lines, (and sunburn).
  13. That's great news. Hopefully, the remaining pieces will also be recovered. It will be greatly appreciated when you can provide more details so we can all learn from the experience. All the best to Joe.
  14. I look forward to hearing more feedback on the Brinch laptop backpack once you've had a chance to test it thoroughly. Reading the specs, the interior dimensions of the main compartment appear to be: 19.6 inches x 13.8 inches. That seems a little tight for a fully loaded itoya 13 x 19 portfolio where the outer binder dimensions are probably greater than 20 inches x 14 inches. It's on my Amazon watch list for now. Thanks for the tip.
  15. NYCC was only 3 weeks ago and you already forgot? Check your camera phone. Maybe you took a pic with the artist holding the art but just forgot? Look at the artist alley guest list names, starting with the letter T for their first name. The names should still be on the NYCC website or in the free program book they give out at the show. It's a nice commission. All the best.
  16. All you junior detectives out there can study the pics and probably figure it out.
  17. Unfortunately, the NJT bus # 190 only runs Monday - Friday. I don't know if there is an alternative for the weekend. I suggest asking NJT or someone from the rec center.
  18. Great job and video ML. I love Tradd's style and he killed it with this issue. With mini series, it usually takes time for the action to build up so buying issue # 3 was the smart move. Congratulations. Cheers! N.
  19. Funny how everyone got on inker Dan Green's case for leaving "historical" pencilled prices on the back of his pages.
  20. The page has SOLD. I appreciate all those that contacted me via CAF and CGC. I will reply to every person soon. Thanks.
  21. John Romita Jr pencils / Klaus Janson inks. Punisher War Zone # 5 page 16 (?) circa 1992. I recently got this page back in a trade. This is the best panel page from the issue. Romita Jr / Punisher War Zone #5 Cheers! N. You must include your email when contacting me. Thanks.
